Yes people, now it’s warming up a bit it made sense to link up with a few friends and have a little yard party at one of my favourites, The Trent navigation big shed.

I called up my and and thought it was Time to link some of the Nottingham deeper than roots family for a day of music, art and food.

Our Story

Origin One is a music producer, DJ and Studio engineer from Nottingham, with strong foundations in Digital Dancehall and Reggae, He has continued to develop by drawing from his past aliases to reflect the sounds of UK bass music, Jungle, D’n’B, Hip Hop and Grime with his own modern interpretation of ‘Roots Music’ solely designed for the sound system. After 2 years of signing with Nice Up! Records and releasing the 7inch singles ‘Mi Bredrin ft. Parly B’ and ‘High Grade ft. K.O.G’, The eagerly anticipated ‘Deeply Rooted’ Album was released in April ’19 ( On digital and 12 inch Vinyl ) , that showcased a barrage of International and Uk artists including; Soom T, Mc Spyda ( Black Tarantula ), Garnda , Nanci Correia ( Nanci & Pheobe ) Parly B, Tenor Youthman( Russia ) , Dandelion ( The Drop / Hempolics ), K.O.G ( KOG and the zongo brigade ), XL mad ( Numa Crew ) and finally Irah ( Just prior to his successful hit with Chase and Status with ‘The program’ & ‘Original Nuttah’ ). They album quickly gained the support and recognition from Reggae royalty such as; David Rodigan and Don Letts, Both playing multiple songs from the Album, On Radio 1xtra and BBC, Also various tracks were picked up by the likes of Toddla T, Jamz Supanova, Dean Jackson and Summaya Mughal. In total 6/11 tracks were played by BBC1, BBC1Xtra, BBC6, BBC Radio Nottingham. Also an accomplished DJ, covering a unique blend of Digi Dub and Dancehall, up-to modern bashment and Grime, Origin One is a natural on the festival circuit and has appeared at the likes of; Boomtown festival ( 2016,17,18,19 ), Soundwave festival Croatia, Sun Daze ( Naples ), Shambala Festival, Bestival, Detonate Festival, Farm Fest, Upfest, The forest project ( Edinburgh ) and a multitude of club nights including; Fruit Palace, Subdub Leeds, Rumble In The Jungle, Detonate, Reggae Takeover, Tun Up!, Rubberdub, Tumble Audio, Shak out, Mood Swings, Sushi Audio ( Tokyo ) and Laag Sounds ( NL ) to name a few… His unique productions have led him to work with various imprints such as; Nice Up! Tru Thoughts, Scotch Bonnet Records, Off Me Nut Records, Mimm, Raider Records, Irish Moss, Born On Road, Deeper Than Roots Records and Totally Dubwise records amongst others, with various projects in the works with multiple vocalists, Origin One is one to keep an eye on in 2019/20.
