One of Nottingham’s most enigmatic historical landmarks, Long Stairs, officially reopened after a remarkable restoration project.

The medieval stairs in the Lace Market were shut and partially destroyed when the slum area was cleared in the 1930s.

Over eight years, volunteers led by heritage campaigner Janine Tanner raised £20,000 for clearance and safety work.

We visited during the open day on Sunday, and it was great to see the hard work pay off and the long queue of people 🙌

We are so lucky to have a city that’s filled with talented producers and steeped in history – and is now exploring that in Nottingham.

We were kindly invited on one of the first tours around the city, walking around for three hours and exploring six food and drink destinations with bites to eat and fascinating talks.

The tours are currently open for bookings on the fourth Saturday of the month, and are £85pp.

Ay-Up Market is back in Old Market Square, and it’s bigger than ever 🦆🛍️

There are over 90 independent stallholders to shop, with Nottingham gifts, clothing, homeware, and more.

You can also watch live music curated by Rastarella, tuck into street food, take part in workshops, and even play hook a duck.

The market is on until Sunday March 29th, and you can find out more about it | ad

Nottingham's fastest selling rum 🥃

We visited .distillery to try its new Distiller's Drop 002.

Matured for 28 months in Bordeaux red wine casks, this has tasting notes of wild strawberries, black pepper, and crème brûlée 🍓

The 001 sold out in 48 hours, and this one only has 258 bottles out of 900 remaining.
