One of Nottingham’s most enigmatic historical landmarks, Long Stairs, officially reopened after a remarkable restoration project.
The medieval stairs in the Lace Market were shut and partially destroyed when the slum area was cleared in the 1930s.
Over eight years, volunteers led by heritage campaigner Janine Tanner raised £20,000 for clearance and safety work.
We visited during the open day on Sunday, and it was great to see the hard work pay off and the long queue of people 🙌
