Perry Frank (born Francesco Perra) is a Sardinian ambient, post-rock and experimental musician known for his immersive, atmospheric soundscapes built from guitar, synths, tape loops and dreamy textures. His music blends influences from Brian Eno, William Basinski, Fennesz and other ambient innovators to create cinematic, introspective journeys without boundaries. Perry Frank began his one-man project in 2006 and has steadily built a dedicated following through albums, EPs and his acclaimed Ambient Guitar Sessions, where he performs in striking natural settings.

This event is part of the Nottingham C.A.N - Beaknots Music Academy Festival (funded by Youth Music)

Held at Mimm Studios, Nottingham and focusing on showcasing a wide breadth of local career pathway from within the Music Industry and also celebrating the talents of the young creatives from the Beatknots Music Academy. We have curated a vibrant 3-week schedule, featuring a range of Talks, Masterclasses, Performances and Workshops.

Happy New Year to everyone! To celebrate the vast pool of Nottingham talent we are inviting acts into our Phlexx records Studio at .studios for chats and live sessions.

It was an absolute priveledge to have one of our favourite artists Daudi Matsiko come along to launch the series.

Daudi played two songs for us from his new Ep ‘Dead Bird Dream’, the first track (Dropping at 6pm today), is titled ‘Tiger’s Dream’ - named after from the band who had the dream the song is based on.

Beatknots Adaptations 01: Richard Stoker Album Release

Produced from a collaboration with The Richard Stoker Trust and Nottingham C.A.N. Young people from the Beatknots Music Academy got the privilege of accessing Richard Stoker's extensive and diverse catalogue, creating a sample pack which was used to compose the Adaptations 01 Album - They then released it on our Youth-Led Tied in Knots Label which Phlexx Records Support 🙂

Trekkah (Benjamin Zięć) is a musician, producer, DJ, sonic artist, community arts practitioner and co-founder of two Nottingham based events & record labels Phlexx Records and T.O.N.E.S. Over the years Trekkah has performed on stages throughout the U.K and Europe being billed in venues and festival line-ups such as Rock City, Nottingham Theatre Royal, No Tomorrow Festival, Bestival, Boomtown Festival, SQ Club Poznan, Hootanannys Brixton & Soundwave Croatia. Jamaican-Irish rapper JayaHadADream is one of the UK’s most exciting new voices, blending raw, introspective lyricism with grime and hip hop influences. Raised in Cambridge and shaped artistically in Nottingham, she took an unconventional path into music—starting a career teaching A-Level Criminology at just 21, before leaving the profession in 2023 to pursue music full-time.

Her breakout came in 2024 when she won the Glastonbury Emerging Talent Competition, handpicked by Michael and Emily Eavis, earning a coveted slot on one of the festival’s main stages. Since then, she’s lit up Reading, Leeds, Boomtown, BBC Radio 1’s Big Weekend, and SXSW London, with a range of packed sets at Glastonbury 2025.
