Nottingham Restaurant Week, facilitated by our friends at It's in Nottingham is back this month; for not one but two weeks (running Mon 1 - Sat 14 June). This year over 65 different venues are involved ranging from independent gems to big-name favourites. Here’s everything you need to know…

Anyone here a surprise to you?

The Television Workshop is one the most magical things about Nottingham. Their students live and work near us all, yet barely a week goes by when one of them isn’t seen on national TV or in cinemas.

Check out our conversation with the institution's director, Alison Rashley, below...

Nottingham’s Television Workshop is one the most magical things about Nottingham. Their students live and work near us all, yet barely a week goes by when one of them isn’t seen on national TV or in cinemas. The last decade has seen Workshoppers appear in Game of Thrones, The Last of Us, several...

Our friends at Mansfield Museum and Art Gallery and Mansfield Palace Theatre have an exhibition of 'The World’s Worst Record Covers' running from 6 June to 29 August. 😂

Here's 5 of the 400 they will have on display. It's free to attend and once there you can also:

- 🎧 Listen to tracks from the albums
- 🗳 Vote for your favourite covers
- 🎨 Take part in “crap or classic?” activities
- 😂 Explore hundreds more hilariously terrible record sleeves

Do you have any record covers you think could make it in there? If so please share them with us in the comments.

We're sure that lots of you might be familiar with the work of local artist Julian Pinnick, but if not allow us to introduce you to it...

Julian uses oil paint and coloured pencils to immortalise Nottingham streets at certain times and places, showing us the magic in locations we might pass everyday, while giving us some lovely nostalgia for venues and shops that might now have closed down.

His paintings are on display from 16 June at Broadway Gallery on Heathcoat Street and we spoke to him about them. Read the article at the link in comments.
