How many drums is too many drums? The Ranch is renowned for the sound of its live room. The floating floor, splayed walls and wooden ceiling combine for a lively and balanced drum sound.

On top of the room, we also offer clients the use of our extensive drum collection. We have tried just about every snare drum and drum kit out there. Anything in our collection has earned its place.

After a summer of tirelessly fussing over every detail, it’s been amazing to hear everyone’s feedback on the new-look Ranch! Detailing all the changes would take all day, so here’s a quick overview:

Control Room: Now centred around an SSL AWS console, with refined acoustics and monitoring for a precise listening environment. A bespoke amp rack and switching system keeps everything within arm’s reach.

Live Room: Always the heart of the studio, but now better than ever. We revised the acoustics, stripping back some of the dampening to make it more responsive. Lighting options have been expanded too, from moody and vibey to bright and clear, all controllable by voice command. With improved storage and a backline few can match, the room is more inspiring than ever.

Downtime Spaces: Making a record should be a great experience whether it’s behind the kit or taking a break. With that in mind, our green rooms, kitchen, and public areas have all been upgraded to give you a comfortable place to recharge - complete with our favourite new addition: the Fellow Aiden coffee machine.

A refreshed control room, stripped back and centred around an iconic 24-channel SSL AWS console, with precise Neumann monitoring and everything needed for complete creative control.

The legendary live room, renewed and de-cluttered with a fresh acoustic perspective to further enhance its explosive drum sound.

At every stage, from the initial concept to the final touches, every detail has been shaped with one vision: to make The Ranch more ergonomic, comfortable, and inspiring for producer and artist alike.

We hope you’re as excited as we are about this new chapter.

Bands, musicians, producers, engineers, photographers, filmmakers, artists. Since 2008 The Ranch has welcomed thousands of people through its doors, all with one aim in common: creating art. We are thankful to everyone who has been part of our history so far, we wouldn’t exist without this community, and we look forward to welcoming new faces in the years ahead.

It’s been a busy summer at The Ranch, and we’ve been quietly working hard behind the scenes on some exciting developments.
