The Phone Museum in Mary Tavy (Bal Lane) was officially open on Wednesday 7th May. Thanks to everyone who came along and thanks to Bryonie for all the planning and getting project off the ground. We hope to have public guided walk in the next couple of months to exploring the mining history.

Start time: 10.00am
Duration: 4 hrs 7 miles
Meeting Point: Okehampton Moor below Row Tor SX596922 what3word - skips.overdrive.stitch
Route: Row Tor, Target Railway, New Bridge, East Mill Tor, Oke Tor and Cullever Steps. Dogs allowed on this walk
Price: £11
27th April (Sun) CRANMERE POOL & OCKERTON COURT – 6 hours
Start Time: 10am
Meeting Point: Okehampton Moor below Row Tor SX 59626 92220
What3word: yell.nurtures.acrobats
Duration: 10 miles, 6 hours
Route: Oke Tor, Knack Mine, Ted Hughes Memorial Stone, Taw Head, Cranmere Pool, Ockerton Court, and East Mill Tor.
Note: There will be tough section of moorland on this walk. Dogs are allowed on this walk

29th April (Tue) BENNETT’S CROSS - 2 hours

4h May (Sun) FUR TOR – QUEEN OF THE MOOR - 6 hours
Start Time: 10am
Meeting Point: Lane End (Car park at end lane. SX 537 824).
Duration: 10-12 miles (6 hrs)
Route: Tavy Cleave, River Tavy, Sandy Ford, Fur Tor, Pinswell, Watern Oke, Rattlebrook, Tavy Cleave tor and Ger Tor
Note: This a tough walk including a number of river crossing. No dogs on this walk

OKEHAMPTON TOWN TRAIL

10am at the Museum of Dartmoor Life Courtyard

This walk, led by Local Historian Paul Rendell, will look at the industrial side of this market town. On this 1 ½ hour walk we will learn about the copper mines, the many mills to be found in the town a chance to see a working waterwheel and visit inside the building of this mill.
