Morning to all you fabulous WYOS followers,

This message will read differently as it has been written by Jo (I lurk in the background adding hashtags onto posts and helping in the background for WYOS Media events (I love a hi vis vest!).

Unfortunately Damian Carruthers is currently in hospital with enforced rest for at least 10 days.

While we appreciate business never stops, humans do and at this time rest is what the hospital has ordered. We know that this is not ideal and apologise for any inconvenience, however we also know that you will understand.

In the meantime we'd ask you to park any emails or messages until we have provided an update. Any emails or messages sent will not be responded to.

I love all aspects of creating music videos

We wanted a real 80s theme for Kristie 22 video '1989' and part of that was taking a little inspiration from the amazing Tom Hanks 80s classic - 'BIG'

We didn't have the 'Big' budget so had to get creative, but pleased with the result from our DIY skills & imagination.

It was made with a roll of vinyl flooring and some spray paint, Blue Peter hear we come!

It did the job!

Do not give up on your dreams

2 years ago I was working on building sites trying to grow my media business.

Then I got sick, I collapsed with stomach pain and was taken to hospital. They sent me for a CT scan and found a major issues and massive infection in my bowels.

I was put on an IV anti biotic drip and told that they may need to operate and remove part of my bowel near my colon. The operation carried a risk.

6 days in, the infection started to clear, a week after that I was home and ordered to rest.

I thought life was over, I could never work as physically again.

But then something happened, a light bulb in my head telling me that this was about opportunity, not a curse.

I threw myself into making my business work for me full time...

And now... here I am filming a music video for Kristie 22 with her dad Wayne Read and Maddie McGregor

Sometimes life has a funny way of blessing us.

Ai is damaging your brand

(For those with low intelligence, we used Ai image to demonstrate how bad it is)

We have all seen these style posters on social media now. It’s absolutely littered with them, and they look terrible.

What does this say about your brand?

It shows that you’re either too lazy to create your own poster or too cheap to pay someone to make you one.

We are seeing more and more bands pull out of events where venues are relying on ai.

Consumers no longer want it and will simply scroll past because it looks like every other poster on social media at the moment.

There is no brand identity at all, you have fractions of a second to grab someone’s attention on social media, if your post looks exactly the same as every other post, you are not capturing your audience.

People now assume that if you use an ai generated poster, then your business is ai based. I see so many photography, editing, music venues, events and even councils/government bodies now using ai generated artwork and it is doing you more harm than good.

Bands that use ai generated artwork - do you really want your music associated with ai?

Authors that use ai generated covers - your audience are going to assume that your book is ai generated too.

The world is turning on ai and we are now seeing multiple lawsuits against the companies that are pushing it on us.

Also - Ai data centres are using ridiculous amounts of our drinking water.

Ai is rapidly changing the world, and not for the better.

Stand out

Be original.

Putting on a festival was probably one of the most challenging experiences of my life. A year of work went into planning this, and we had to overcome many obstacles along the way.

But what an experience, I can’t say thank you enough to every single person involved!

We did it!

Now we are moving onto something else, a huge fundraising and positivity campaign with East Anglia Children’s Hospice!
