✨ Dobcross Village Store & Post Office – Community Update ✨

A big thank you to everyone who came along to Sunday’s Dobcross Village Society meeting at the Band Club. It was fantastic to see so much community spirit in action! 💙

Here are some highlights:

✅ Share membership will soon be even more accessible. The entry level has been reduced to just £25 (still one member = one vote). Once the change is approved by the FCA, it will open the door for more villagers to get involved. In the meantime, you can register your interest by email or by leaving your phone number at the shop.

✅ The committee stays strong. Five existing members were re-elected, but we’d love more helping hands! Treasurer and Secretary positions are open – could it be you?

✅ A successful first year. Thanks to our amazing staff and volunteers, sales are healthy. But remember, it’s always a “use it or lose it” situation. Every pint, pie and paper you buy makes a difference.

We’re proud to support 20+ local suppliers within a 10 mile radius. Keeping it local is what we’re all about.

Please note this meeting is for committee members and for anyone who is interested in joining the committee to help run the shop.

A magical boost of £476 has been raised for Holy Trinity Dobcross School thanks to an enchanting Fairy Garden Trail.

The two-week trail, organised by Friends of Dobcross School (FODS), saw creative and colourful displays pop up across the community.

With a theme of nursery rhymes, there were creations of all shapes and sizes for visitors to find and admire.

We love to recycle here at Dobcross Village Store and we’re running a little low on empty egg cartons. If you have any spare at home, we’d be so grateful if you could drop them in to us. 💛

It’s a small way to reduce waste and help us keep reusing what we can, every little helps! 🌍✨

🌸✨ The Dobcross Fairy Garden Trail is almost here! ✨🌸

Starting next Monday, 18th, our magical trail will run right through to the end of the summer holidays! 🧚‍♀️🌞

🗺 Pop down to Dobcross Village Store to pick up your trail map, a fun colouring-in sheet, and of course some tasty trail snacks to keep you going.

💛 All proceeds go to Friends of Dobcross School supporting our lovely village children.

✨ Meet Isobel – baker of scones, spaniel mum, and bringer of smiles ✨

Isobel is one of our wonderful volunteers here at Dobcross Village Store! 🛒💛

She has called Dobcross home for 11 years, moving here after marrying Graham, a proud born and bred Dobcrosser. She quickly fell in love with the village and the community spirit that makes it so special.

After retiring as a Macmillan Occupational Therapist, her days are now filled with school runs for her granddaughters, who always ask, “Can we go to the shop?” Ice cream, pick ‘n’ mix and cosy corner games are hard to resist 🍦🍬🎲

When she’s not at the shop, you’ll often find Isobel out walking her lovely spaniel Nell, another regular visitor who adores the biscuits and cuddles on offer 🐾💚

A keen home baker, Isobel’s early Saturday mornings are dedicated to fresh scones, with parkin and Christmas cake making an appearance in the winter months. And of course, she never leaves without a weekend treat, usually Brown Bag crisps and a Bounty bar 😄

We’re so lucky to have Isobel’s warmth, energy and baked goods in our community. Thank you for everything you do, Isobel! 🙌💛

☀️🍦 New in at Dobcross Village Store! 🍦☀️

We’re now proudly stocking local ice cream from Grandpa Greene’s, made with milk from our very own Dobcross cows at The Lancashire’s farm. 🐄💛

It doesn’t get more local, fresh, or delicious than this!

And with a heatwave on the horizon… well, let’s just say your freezer might need some extra space 😉

Pop in, cool down, and taste a little scoop of Dobcross.

We had a lovely evening catching up over wine and nibbles to show our appreciation for the incredible work our volunteers do. 💛

Dobcross Village Store simply wouldn’t run without the dedication, time and heart they bring. As a community-owned store, their support means everything!
