Great time last night filming Mark Brewer's show at the Pheasantry in London. Lots of good songs, guests and silly jokes sometimes too 😃

I had a two camera setup running, one wide for the whole stage and one zoomed in to follow the performance.

Filming live performances can get tricky. Adjusting exposure, keeping things in focus and framed well is not for the faint hearted.

If there was one tip that I could give, it would always be: capture a wide angle, medium, and a close-up.

Each shot serves a different purpose, and having all of them will make a better video. Getting all three gives a flexibility in the edit, improves pacing, and keeps the viewer visually engaged.

Back on this location for another round of interviews. I decided to film from the opposite side of the room to give the background a new look and keep things interesting.

Since the room was completely dark, I added three lights in the background and as before, the ceiling lights are off to avoid any colour cast.
