Another great Family Arts Festival in Corby. I was filming handheld for most of the day, apart from when I did some vox pops with the public.

Handheld is the best way to film this kind of events where I need to be fast, as things are happening literally all over the place. I'll be making a highlights video, can't wait to get started on the edit.

Great time last night filming Mark Brewer's show at the Pheasantry in London. Lots of good songs, guests and silly jokes sometimes too 😃

I had a two camera setup running, one wide for the whole stage and one zoomed in to follow the performance.

Filming live performances can get tricky. Adjusting exposure, keeping things in focus and framed well is not for the faint hearted.

If there was one tip that I could give, it would always be: capture a wide angle, medium, and a close-up.

Each shot serves a different purpose, and having all of them will make a better video. Getting all three gives a flexibility in the edit, improves pacing, and keeps the viewer visually engaged.

Below is a short example of the range of shots filmed for a recent video that involved capturing a dance rehearsal.
