It’s been a busy month of January listening, advocating, and making things happen for YOU across Edge Hill! Here’s what I have been up to:

Represented you at Academic Board, SSCF meetings & the Health & Wellbeing Board to push for student centred policies.
After campaigning at St. James Campus, I’m happy to share we now have Campus Connector roles there too ensuring every student is heard!
Delivered orientation talks for international students and inductions at both Ormskirk & St. James to help you settle in and succeed.

AND THE BIG ONE…
Working with the NHS to bring a Blood Donation & Awareness Event to campus soon! Stay tuned – this will be huge.

Campaigned for more diverse food options and yeah it’s available now on campus.
None of these would have been possible without your support. Thanks and stay tuned for the next update.
Got ideas? DM me. Want to help? Get in touch.

This is your union, your voice, your impact. Let’s keep building together. ❤️

An important update for our student community! 🎓
Over the past period, I’ve been focused on following up on your feedback and ensuring your voices lead to tangible change. Here’s a recap of recent actions:

• Ormskirk Campus:Held an open surgery on the uniform campaign to hear your direct concerns.

•Student Voice Sessions:Attended the SSCFS for all Health programmes, listening intently to your experiences and priorities.

•Leadership Discussion:Met with the Vice-Chancellor to present key student issues and work on collaborative solutions.

•Faculty Board:Formally addressed the raised points to ensure they are part of the university’s decision-making agenda.

• Saint James Campus Visit:Personally visited to check on progress. I reviewed student feedback in Open surgery and can confirm the university has acted on your complaints:
✅ New equipment has been installed.
✅ Toilet facilities have been repaired.
✅ Student facilities are now properly functioning.

Your feedback is vital. We are committed to acting on it. Thank you to every student who spoke up – you are helping us improve.

There’s more to do, and this channel remains open. Please keep sharing your thoughts with us.

Hi all students, hope you are enjoying your life. October was a busy and productive month! Here’s a recap of some of the work I have been doing on your behalf:

✅ New Student Support:Held drop-in sessions and open surgeries to welcome new students and hear your feedback on placements and mental wellbeing.

✅ Surveys in Progress:Working with your officers on crucial surveys, including the Disabled Student Survey (with Sam) and a Uniform Survey for Health students.

✅ St. James Campus Wins!A major focus this month. I raised your issues directly with the Vice Chancellor and at the Academic Board. I’m thrilled to announce this has resulted in:
🔹 The university assigning a dedicated Student Life Officer to the campus!
🔹 Securing free breakfast and lunch initiatives! 🥪☕
More events are on the way – your voice is being heard!

✅ Collaborative Projects:Teamed up with the Female Students Officer on another important survey to ensure all voices are represented.
There’s much more in the pipeline for November. Thank you for your continuous feedback—it’s what drives this work!

Yesterday, we delivered an Open Surgery in Faculty of Health for an open Q&A, and it was incredible. No question was too big or too small. We took students feedback on Placements, Support during Placement, and Mental well-being during Placements as well as university experience.
A massive thank you to everyone who came with their questions, curiosity, and feedback. Your active participation is what makes these sessions so valuable.
Got more questions? My DMs are always open. Let’s keep this momentum going! 💪

A whirlwind and wonderful September.

Presented at panels & meetings, advocating for student voices where it counts.
Took a fantastic trip to John Moores University Students’ Union to share ideas and best practices. Collaboration is key!
Honoured to be invited to the Heads Huddles at the Health Department to discuss student wellbeing.
