The Petts Wood 10K is a race for everyone. Although well supported by local running cubs, a whopping 80% of runners in 2024 didn't belong to an England Athletics registered club at all. However, many belong to other sports clubs & teams. Why not challenge your team to a 10K? Make a little competition of it or just run together and improve your team's fitness.

We will have a team of at least 3 talented photographers, taking 1,000s of photos, covering all aspects of the Petts Wood 10K. If you want to give them a wave, do a little jump, or pull a funny face, that's fine. They'll get you a shot for your socials. But calm down, eh?!

Although most PW10K runners don't belong to a club at all, we get great support from our local friends. Every year the top 3 EA registered clubs, in terms of number of runners, are Bromley Veterans, Orpington Road Runners, and Beckenham Running Club. Will it be the same again this year? We'll keep you posted.

Hello. Some Might Say we're jumping on the bandwagon. Whatever. It's all part of The Masterplan to Little By Little get you all to Bring It On Down to Willett Rec on 12th October. So, Don't Go Away, Listen Up! If you're Married With Children, Slide Away for a moment and get registered, and if you're not, just Roll With It and sign up too. It will sell out, so Be Here Now (see link) and reserve your place. No dynamic pricing here, just £22 and you're in (£20 for EA registered runners). Don't Look Back In Anger when you've left it too late. If you message the Race Director at that point, he'll just say, Hey Now! Stop Crying Your Heart Out. You were warned! Acquiesce.
So if you've got the hottest ticket this year, we'll see you in October. Meanwhile, if you're Half The World Away (in Manchester) tonight, I Hope, I Think, I Know it'll be mint. D'You Know What I Mean?

But on the subject of Ci******es & Alcohol - It's not your imagination. You have finally found something worth living for in the Petts Wood 10K. So if you're looking for some action, you won't find ci******es, but our friends from One Inn The Wood will have the alcohol if you fancy rewarding yourself with pint afterwards.

The Petts Wood 10K really is a mixed bag. You'll get round in road shoes. They might never be the same again, if it's been wet, but you'll be able to enjoy it in your regular running shoes. You may prefer light trail shoes, particularly if it's been wet on the days beforehand, or on the day. These will give you a bit more grip in the woods if it's muddy & slippery. What you definitely don't want are spikes! We'll have more advice for you on shoe choice and what the course is like in the lead up to the race. The important thing is that you get registered before it sells out.

Petts Wood Runners had their annual club photo taken this evening, in exactly the spot you'll be crossing the finish line at the Petts Wood 10K if you don't forget about it until after we've sold out again.

On Thursday, we hit 300 registrations. Exactly the same day that we hit 300 last year, which sold out in advance (as did 2023).
Some mildly interesting stats for you:
2025 registrations so far comprise of
167 male & 133 female runners.
50 affiliated to England Athletics running clubs & 250 not.
The youngest entrant is 16, and the oldest is 86!
Run Director, Jason is looking forward to welcoming you this year. He's not looking forward to the begging emails from people that left it too late to register! Do it now, and relax. Link in comments & bio.
