And, just like that, our busy summer comes to a close 🥲

We have loved working with so many inspiring people over the past 8️⃣ weeks, both at PACC Healthy Lives and on Holly & Ivy with our work experience students 🙌🏻

But now it’s time to catch up on a few other things, have a bit of a break and prepare ourselves for a big “Rocking Horse reset”, when we come back… 👀

“That’s A Wrap” for the stars of our summer program with PACC Healthy Lives! 🎬

These incredible young people have all worked so hard over the past four weeks to put together their own short film and, yesterday, they finally filmed it! 🎥

It was a long day on set, filming on location at Raya's Kitchen in Oswestry Town Market, but everyone stayed professional and really did themselves proud 👏🏻

Well done to all of our young filmmakers and thanks to Raya and Oswestry Town Market for making yesterday possible for them. Raya even stayed for the group pic 🙏

We have had the best time covering so many of their incredible activities over the past four jam-packed and fun filled weeks for their official promo video 🎥

Being able to take direction is an essential part of the acting process 🗣️

And our young stars in Holly & Ivy did it brilliantly! Betty Carter and Emily Stephenson were both great listeners, soaking up everything they were told all week long 🧽

But they also weren’t afraid to ask questions to help them better understand their characters, only continuing to prove why they were the perfect casting for Holly & Ivy 🤩

That Time We Went To Prison With An Acting Icon 🤩

So the National Eisteddfod was in Wrexham last week, where lots of people got the chance to meet the legendary, Mark Lewis Jones. How exciting! 😍

But imagine getting to work with him on the set of your own Wrexham-based TV pilot? Because that’s exactly what the Henry House family got to do 🥳

It was such an honour to work with the Star Wars actor on our care home comedy drama, on location at the incredible Shrewsbury Prison. We even filmed it on Star Wars Day ✨

A HOLLY & IVY official song is in the works! 😍

We are proud to announce Shropshire’s own Amber Hayden (as Hayden Martin Smith) has written a song inspired by the important message behind our film 🥹

“I think this story is an important one to tell and I’m so excited and honoured to have been able to translate it to song,” explains a passionate Amber, who visited the set 🗣️

As a former student of Telford College herself, Amber is the perfect fit for the project priding itself on giving industry opportunities to our local young people 🙌🏻

🤝 T E A M 🌟 W O R K 🤝

We can’t believe that this will be the final week of our summer filmmaking program with the talented young creatives from PACC Healthy Lives 🥹

But, as we prepare to finally shoot our short film we have all been working on, we’ve been learning how filmmaking isn’t just about the talents ON camera 👀

This past week, whilst our actors rehearsed, the rest of us were setting up cameras, lights & microphones. So everyone will have a job to do on this set! 🎬

Are you even a film star until you’ve received fan art of your characters? 🤔

That’s what happened to our Holly & Ivy leading ladies, Betty Carter & Emily Stephenson , who received this hand drawn illustration on the set of their first short film 🎬

What a surreal moment this was for our young stars, to be met with artwork of their own characters! It had been designed by one of our younger crew members 🎨
