Earlier today, Rob Francis climbed up into the belltower alongside churchwarden Stuart Williams to take a closer look at the inner workings of the historic bells before they come down. Rob was given a rare view of the intricate mechanism that has kept St Mary’s bells ringing for more than fifty years - a fascinating glimpse at the craftsmanship and engineering that has stood the test of time.

Overton Rugby Football Club return to home soil today as they host Aldershot and Fleet in a key league fixture. Kick-off is scheduled for 3pm at Odd Ball Lane, Freefolk.

Overton go into the match in third place in the league, buoyed by a solid victory on the Isle of Wight last weekend. Confidence is high in the camp as they look to continue their push toward the top of the table.

Live and local football at Bridge Street this afternoon as Overton United FC welcome Silchester Village in Hampshire Premier League Division One.

United go into the match unbeaten in the league this season and currently sit three points clear at the top of the table. A win this weekend would tighten their grip on first place and continue what’s been an impressive campaign so far.
