Really enjoyed playing the Peter Jones Foundation Awards Ceremony on Wednesday, with a 3 hour funky house set to start and a 1 hour top 40 set for the post-ceremony drinks reception. Having played in Canary Wharf last year, this year we were at The Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET).
A particular highlight was getting to meet Peter Jones CBE. While circulating around the stands he quickly spoke to me; 7 years ago I took part in the Tycoon Enterprise Competition myself, having been going for less than 6 months. I thanked Peter for the Foundation's support all those years ago, to which he responded 'I know - that's mad!'
Hundreds of events (as Peter himself said to me) later and its good to be supporting an organisation that had such a personal impact when I was starting out.
