One of the highlights of another brilliant Doors Open Days weekend has to be what could become a Scottish Tartans Museum and Heritage Skills Academy. It was amazing to be given a tour of this building on Walker Street in Paisley for the first time by its owner, Hope Vere Anderson. ❤ 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

Although the building hasn’t been used for years, it’s in relatively sound condition and smells dry inside. In one of the rooms, there’s the signature of a genuine Scottish legend, Robbie Coltrane, who ‘wis’ here in 1988. This is around the same time that Robbie starred in John Byrne’s autobiographical film, “Byrne About Byrne”, and a year before Byrne's award-winning 1987 television drama series, “Tutti Frutti”. Thank you to Celie Byrne for pointing this out today. 😀 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

The Scottish Tartans Museum will feature permanent and rotating centring on the celebrated and rich heritage of clan attire. The Heritage Skills Academy aims to preserve traditional Scottish artisan skills such as bonnet making, metalworks and engraving, tartan design, heraldry, sword smithing, stone carving, historic bespoke tailoring, and more. 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

The Glenburn “Hollywood” Sign is listed on Google maps! We wanted to visit Paisley’s newest landmark today, but were unsure of how to get to it. So we Googled it and it came up on the map! It is listed, quite rightly, as a Cultural Landmark and it’s open 24 hours a day. You’ll find the sign at Glen Park car park, off Braehead Road, Glenburn, PA2 8TY. 👍 🥳

The Big Art Show 2025 is fantastic! It’s one of the largest art exhibitions in the country, and it is packed with amazing work. The team have done an incredible job putting this together in their new, permanent home at 9-11 Causeyside Street, where Argos used to be. There are over 1,000 artworks to browse over two floors, plus a shop on the ground floor. If you like art, this exhibition is not to be missed. The Big Art Show runs until 15th November. 🎨 ❤

While dropping off Mill Magazines at Morrisons Johnstone - At the Heart of our Community, we couldn't help but notice that St Vincent's Hospice gift shop have their Halloween decorations out. These cute little pumpkins (first photo) are proving popular with shoppers. This is a charity shop with a difference – everything here is new and all purchases go towards supporting the hospice in Howwood. You'll find the gift shop inside Morrisons Johnstone. 🎃

Coach Gary Campbell from Tots United teaches kids from 18 months to eight years the fundamentals of football ⚽ in Bishopton, Johnstone and Linwood. Not only do the kids gain football skills and self confidence, but Gary hopes one of his pupils will go on to represent Scotland 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿...

“I know it’s going to come from grassroots clubs, like ourselves or whoever, we’ll change it, it wont be the SFA. If we can’t get our technical players better in the next generation by starting at one-year-old and one-and-a-half-years-old then we’ll never get them. That would make me really happy if I could see a few players I coached make it.” Coach Gary Campbell

Gary holds coaching sessions at Dargavel Primary School, Johnstone Sports Hub, and On-X Linwood. For more information, contact Gary on email: [email protected] or WhatsApp 074365 00611. You can read our feature on Tots United on our website, link in the comments.

On Friday night, the adult music students at Erskine Arts took to the stage to perform together for the very first time. The event was free for all the community to attend and support their friends/family that were performing. The lessons are only £20 per calendar month, and are focussed on social inclusion and making long lasting friendships whilst learning an instrument. Well done to everyone who took part! 👏 🎸 🥁
