"Since we took over the sponsorship last season, we’re the first family-based company to do this in 40 years and the last time it happened, we won the Scottish Cup. However, Graham’s Buses actually didn’t have their company name on the day of the cup final because the sponsorship ran out so we’ll be ensuring that doesn’t happen!" 🖤

Local businessman Paul McGrath – owner of Consilium Contracting Services – absolutely loves his home town of Paisley, just as much as he loves St Mirren. We spoke to him about fulfilling the dream of sponsoring his boyhood club and the continued success of Consilium Contracting Services. You can read it on our website, link in the comments below.

While in Johnstone yesterday, we caught up with Andy, owner of Andy's Golden Fry. Just over a year ago, Andy moved to new premises on Church Street and opened this fantastic shop and restaurant. It is lovely inside. The big man’s passion for fish and chips began when he was only 19, he’s been in this game for 28 years now and doesn't look a day past than 40! Paisley has an Andy’s Golden Fry on Causeyside Street, and it is here where he has exciting plans to improve and expand on the current chippy. We’ll reveal more once the ink dries on the paperwork. If you’ve eaten at either of the two shops, you’ll know it’s great food and excellent service. If you haven’t been to Andy’s Golden Fry in Johnstone, get yourself along and enjoy the sit in experience. You get ice cream for pudding! 🍦😋

ALEO on the High Street in Johnstone launched a new breakfast dish this week. If you have met owner and marathon runner Darrell, you’ll know he has a healthy obsession with nutrition. This is his Protein Porridge which is topped with banana, dates, yoghurt, peanut butter, homemade granola and a drizzle of maple syrup. Darrell blends egg whites into the porridge for natural added protein. It’s high fibre, high protein, and packed with vitamins and minerals. How does it taste? Absolutely incredible! Every spoonful is a different flavour. It’s so good that you forget how healthy it is. It could be served as dessert! An absolute bargain at £5.50, 10/10. 😋😋😋

Last week we visited Marshall’s interiors on Houston Square in Johnstone. Housed in the old M&Co shop – which has been split into two shops with Firstsight Opticians on the other side – owner David moved his business from just around the corner in December 2024 and is loving his new space and outlook. The shop sells a range of furniture, ornaments and soft furnishings as well as carpets, vinyl and laminate flooring. A lot of the furniture David gets in are one-off pieces and they are the best of quality. If you are in the midst of doing up your home, Marshall’s Interiors is worth a visit. 🏠😍

Renfrewshire Local Business Event
Thursday 30th October
