The day is upon us. For the first time since 2013, St Mirren FC find themselves in the League Cup Final and anticipation is high. For a town like Paisley, these occasions don't come around on a regular basis. In these moments, petty differences are set aside, grievances are shelved and we can all collectively get behind one common goal-cheering the Buddies on to victory. Enjoy the game, let's hope Paisley has a reason to be rocking come 5pm. COYS ๐Ÿ–ค

Tom and Aidan from The Paisley Music Centre ๐ŸŽธ are two of the friendliest shopkeepers in the town. The store has been serving the people of Renfrewshire and beyond since 1976, with 2026 marking an incredible 50 years ๐Ÿ˜ฎ in business. In a town with such a rich musical heritage, itโ€™s no surprise that sales of guitars and accessories are on the up. If you are looking for a gift for a musician this ๐ŸŽ„ Christmas, pop in and see these two gents. If, like us, the guitar has five strings too many ๐Ÿ˜… grab a kazoo! Kids love them! ๐Ÿ“ 8 Wellmeadow Street, Paisley PA1 2EE.

This is Doris, proud owner of Doris Coffee House โ˜• on Causeyside Street in Paisley. Doris, who is originally from Poland ๐Ÿ‡ต๐Ÿ‡ฑ has lived in Renfrewshire and worked in hospitality for 16 years. So it made sense, when the opportunity arose to start her own business, it would be a coffee shop serving traditional Polish food. Doris creates healthy, wholesome food from scratch with everything made fresh. This means nothing is ready in an instant, unless you are ordering a sandwich. So if you are looking for good homemade food, come and say hello to Doris! Gluten-free and vegetarians are catered for. ๐Ÿ‘

Nom nom asia is a Vietnamese ๐Ÿ‡ป๐Ÿ‡ณ restaurant on Paisleyโ€™s High Street. As you can see, it is stunning inside. We asked the manager for the best options to choose if you havenโ€™t tried Vietnamese cuisine before, she said Fresh Summer Rolls or Fried Spring to start, then Noodle Soup or Hot Plate for your main dish. If you are passing by at lunch time, their filled baguettes are highly recommended. They cater for vegan, vegetarian and gluten-free diets ๐Ÿ‘ 26 High Street, Paisley. ๐Ÿ˜‹

Look ๐Ÿ‘€ what's in stock at Abbey Books Paisley West End... This die cast model of an original Paisley 1919 open-topped double-decker four-wheeled tram ๐Ÿš‹ formed part of a limited edition โ€“ each with an individually numbered certificate of authenticity - issued over three decades ago by renowned toymaker Corgi. The model was produced in 1993 on a scale of 1:76. If you are looking for an unusual and thoughtful Christmas present for someone special this year, here you go! ๐ŸŽ

If you'd like to know more about the history of Paisley's trams, Brian Hannan from Abbey Books has put a short article together for our website. Link in the comments below.

Scotland's youngest ever MMA champion is from PAISLEY! ๐Ÿด๓ ง๓ ข๓ ณ๓ ฃ๓ ด๓ ฟ

In our last issue of the year, we had the pleasure of speaking to Sean Clancy Jr. Within the interview, we encountered a man who was driven, determined and grounded beyond his years. Last night, he clinched the Cage Warriors Welterweight Championship, defeating Melvin van Suijdam in round 2 via KO. Our wholehearted congratulations to Sean, his team, the family and our friends at Pro-Life Gym who have supported him from the outset.

The sky is the limit Sean, the UFC beckons in the future.

SMALL BUSINESS SATURDAY ๐Ÿ˜€
Almost 70p from every ยฃ1 spent in Renfrewshire stays in Renfrewshire. We are very lucky to have such a supportive public who continue to spend money in our local businesses. It's not easy when the cost of living continues to rise. There's so much pressure on small businesses with the price of absolutely everything increasing and, at the moment, there's no light at the end of the tunnel. If it wasn't for you visiting our local shops, restaurants, cafรฉs, etc., there would be a lot more doors closed in Renfrewshire. If you can, please keep doing what you are doing. On behalf of all the amazing businesses in Renfrewshire, thank you. ๐Ÿ’•

With Christmas ๐ŸŽ… only 20 days away, we thought weโ€™d ask Ben at Bailey's Antiques for five gift ๐ŸŽ ideas. He picked out these essentials:

1. Blue sombrero
2. Russian cat dolls
3. Classic movie laser discs
4. A beautiful stained glass window
5. An ornament with Johnstone on it

Check out Benโ€™s pose in the last photo, he was born to wear this hat! If you havenโ€™t been in before, youโ€™ll find Baileyโ€™s Antiques at 34 High Street, Paisley.
