One thing I’ve learnt recently is to never underestimate the power of those who lift you up, no matter whether it’s a good month or a not so good one.

Who are those people in your life?

Who are the ones who don’t necessarily have a clue what you do, but they want you to win?

They are like gold dust so keep them around you.

People like my husband Dave, who has supported me through some hard times recently and shown up every day to make things easier at home. ❤️

Like fellow designers who lift you up when you least expect it with kind words, or a referral ❤️

Or my mentor in my other project, who made me fill up when she told me how proud of my progress she was. ❤️

And there are others who continue to lift me up and I them.

I love how having an online business is so much more about having a supportive community around you than being about competition.

So thanks - if you’ve made me smile, made my day better, encouraged me to keep going or inspired me in some way - 🫶🫶

for helping me see that perimenopause is manageable

for being so open and inspiring 🐕

for inspiring me to workout and be healthier 🏋️

for being my friend. ❤️

One of the most inspirational people I have ever met.

Tom Moses

Ex political prisoner on Robben Island at the same time as Nelson Mandela

He’s openly honest about still being angry at being imprisoned unfairly and treated like an animal for so long.

But what he said next floored me.

He told us that what mattered now was that he channeled that anger into educating as many people as possible about what happened during his experience of apartheid, so it never happens again.

He wanted us to know how it felt to be demeaned daily.

Beaten

Laughed at.

Isolated.

Made to work for hours digging in the intense sun. ☀️

He shared with us how Mandela had inspired them to help each other.

Be a community

Never give up hope.

I was in tears all the way round.

I can’t understand why anyone would do these things because of the colour of someone else’s skin. 😡😡

This guy will live forever in my consciousness and be a driver for me to speak up against racism in all its forms.

I love our new area - Par in Cornwall.

❤️ I get to see the sea every day, which@is really relaxing. 🌊

❤️ Sasha has freedom in some places to be off lead.

❤️ We can do the simple things we like to do, like go for a walk in the countryside, walk along the beach and go for a coffee or drink in local cafes and pubs.

❤️ It’s a lot milder here than Lancashire, which will be a win particularly in winter. The rain is liveable because it’s not freezing cold as well.

If I were starting my business now, I'd tell myself these simple things:

⭐ You are capable of this.

Keep taking action even when it feels hard.

⭐ Record key data from the beginning

- Bin anything that isn't giving you results.

⭐Focus on income producing activities first.

If you build cash flow, it make it easier to then build freedom into your life.

⭐Be proud and encourage yourself.

Don't expect anyone to be there doing it for you. (inspired by Alex Hormozi)

⭐ Prioritise your health first, even if it feels like you should be diving into client work first thing in the day.

You're all you've got and you need to be in great health to run the kind of business that works for you and have a happy life outside of it.

⭐ Keep things simple and your expenses small as you grow.

There are so many shiny things we can buy when we start a business, and I've done it - the thing is that you don't use them until later on in your business development.

Keep your processes simple and free if you can, so you have as much cash available as possible.

⭐ Where you can, get a mentor.

Try to be kind to well-meaning people, who aren't self-employed or in your field, who give you bad advice - they are just trying to help in their own way.

Mentors need to be people who have been successful in what you want to achieve and can help you get there faster.

They aren't cheap so save for one as soon as you can.

If I were an animal, I’d be a dog.

🐕 I would get to smell in technicolour

🐕 It would be great to relax all day

🐕 I would live truly in the moment, love swimming and chasing after things.

A website design trend I love ❤️

Bold minimalism

Think clean lines and layout, intentional space, soft animations, and striking, bold headline font, paired with a smaller, simple font.

Basically we are stripping back anything that isn’t necessary and making the website simple, clear and inviting to use.

But where did this trend come from?

Originally minimalism came from the Baushaus school, a German art school, where designers believe that form should be considered after function.

This way of thinking spread into graphic design, interior design and now is influencing how we build websites. (Brimaronlinemarketing.com 2025)

🌿 Where it’s headed:

I see bold minimalism being used to:

→ Create simple websites that pack a punch visually, and stand out in a crowded space.

→ Wow new users with subtle motion + microinteractions but strategically done to guide the user through the website.

→ Optimise a website so it converts more sales and brings in more enquiries

I recently refreshed Cole’s website, using some of the bold minimalism principles.

🧘‍♀️ Featured Client: Aquarian Medicine - Lorraine Olivero-Brodeur 🧘‍♀️

Lorraine is a co-founder of the brand, along with her husband Rich.

Her mission is to guide visionary leaders, professionals, and purpose-driven individuals toward their unique blueprint for vitality, resilience, and authentic evolution, so they can live in conscious alignment with who they truly are and why they are here.

I worked with Lorraine to bring her vision for her brand to life on WordPress.

Her site has a reflective, calm yet clean, modern feel that mirrors Lorraine's desire for people to experience deep healing.

I also set up Lorraine's email CRM. Her membership was set up in collaboration with .r.sanders

I’m super proud of how this turned out.
