There is still plenty of time to get your Mushroom tracks ready for Sporecore. The deadline is 1st of July.

You can interpret it however you like- funky fungus; single-celled yeast; networks of mycelium; their symbiosis with plants and bacteria (lichen and mycorrhiza); zombified fungi-infested insects; haute cuisine truffles; furry moulds; spreading spores; or even your favourite mushroom recipe – whatever you can imagine and commit to music!

Your track can be either something brand new or something produced in the last year, as long as it is in keeping with the theme and incorporates electronic elements. Tracks are required to be no longer than 6 minutes; all your own work (with sounds/samples that are public domain); and be safe for radio play (No explicit language). Other than that, you are free to interpret the theme as creatively as you wish.

All the money made from Bandcamp downloads of the album are being donated to the charity CARE- (Cooperative for Assistance and Relief Everywhere)

The art work for this compilation album was created by Animalsoup Art who also features on may Three Eyed Cat compilations under the name Animal Zoup. They also produced the artwork for previous Three Eyed Cat Records release, Minibeast Melodies. I think the art work is amazing and perfectly encapsulates the many different musical styles that feature on these great albums and I can't wait to hear the weird and wonderful ways you all interpret the mushroom theme. Three Eyed Cat Records is thrilled to announce the upcoming release of a new electronic compilation album titled "Sporecore."

The theme is mycology, mushrooms and fungi and we are foraging for imaginative musicians to take part and submit music.

About the Track: 'Random Pest' is a 3 part track (drum machine, walking synth bass, 'lead' synth), recorded live without overdubs. The drum machine is programmed to give much randomness, the walking bass part has a fixed rhythm, though the notes are randomised within limits. The high synth part is randomised in both rhythm and melody, and was sequenced on a WestPest synthesizer (hence the title).

Track Name: Tithonus Becomes a Cicada
Genre: Electronic

About the Track: I chose to make a track with a theme from Greek Mythology as this is an interest in my visual art at the moment. According to myth there is a story called the Homeric Hymn to Aphrodite where Eos (his lover) asked Zeus to make Tithonus Immortal but forgot to ask for eternal youth. He lived forever but turned into a cicada due to becoming so old, tiny and wrinkled. I tried to emulate the sounds of a cicada using a monotron and used Microkorg’s vocoder for the first time in a track. The artwork is my depiction of Tithonus metamorphosising into a cicada.

It features electronic musicians from all over the world who have all taken the theme in their own unique direction and the result is a fantastic album of scurrying, buzzing, beauty. About the Track: This track is taken from the album Lithosphere released by Vicious Records in 2022.
Lithopshere is an album with music inspirered by earths layers of soil, and anything inside these layers.
The track, Subsidence is focussed on the micro soundscapes of insects “speaking” and/or crawling around in underground tunnels where drafts of air suddenly appears.
