Words Are All We Have

Words Are All We Have We've always been about conversations but now we're expanding our vision into news, views and reviews. Watch what happens next.

Started off as a radio programme about the spoken word and its many manifestations; from poetry to plays, narratives, news and travel logs, discussions and debates and just plain old chatter. Recently joined up with “News spot south west” to increase news and comment.

Monday, for Priests and Musicians, (I capitalise both, for we all deal in magic, or should) is a day of rest. The performances over, one can relax the body and engage the mind. For instance, consider the miracle that is the Hand: Silly "method" fads for children have turned fingers into insensitive hammers and, coralled many (including me) away from those dangerous sharps and flats in the safe, dull key of C, taking away both the skill and the thrill. Fortunately Genius transcends, and forces a gap for a few of us lesser souls to escape the corall.

All our fine 'progress'
All of our Music and Art:
A brief acquaintance...

All our obsessions,
Love, Life, Death, vile war, sweet peace
Concern not Kronos.

Selene Candescent
Glows, guides, glides the tide's mantle;
Eternal cadence.

A less-regarded corner of our Labyrinth on an evening in High Summer. My mother planted the Stone Pine in the 1950s, I, the conifers and many other trees when Xenia was born. The Roses get on just fine with the wild Foxgloves and, share the dwindling bee population. A lesson...

THE DIARY OF A BOX OF BOOKS
On a dry fine day the box lives outside the front door. The box sits on a chair with a sign saying “HELP YOURSELF” in large print and in smaller text “loose change welcomed”. The aim is obvious and that is to reduce the number of books in the house in the hope that some small change will ensue. Sometimes it’s pennies, occasionally a pound coin or two and frequently nothing at all. The frequency of people taking books is uncertain; sometimes there’s a lot of interest although that doesn’t mean that they will take a book or donate a few coins. Other times there doesn’t appear to be anybody interested and the passing cars never stop.

Our Story
