When we're in a state of hyperfocus, we may feel like we're in a trance-like state - nothing else exists except for the task at hand.

While hyperfocus can be a superpower in some situations, it can also be a double-edged sword. For example, we may hyperfocus on a task to the point of neglecting other important responsibilities, like eating or sleeping. We may also struggle to shift our attention away from a task once we've become hyperfocused, which can lead to procrastination and missed deadlines. It can also be super frustrating for those around us who don't understand why we can't just "snap out of it".

But overall, I believe that hyperfocus is a strength, not a weakness. It allows us to achieve a level of productivity and creativity that most people can only dream of. And with the right strategies and tools, we can learn to harness the power of hyperfocus while also managing its potential downsides.

In fact, many people are not diagnosed with ADHD until adulthood, after years of struggling with symptoms like impulsivity, forgetfulness, and distractibility. And even those who were diagnosed as kids may continue to struggle with ADHD well into adulthood.

But fear not, my fellow ADHDers! While living with ADHD can be challenging, there are plenty of strategies and resources out there to help us thrive. So let's bust this myth once and for all - ADHD is not just a kid thing!
