Young Writers We aim to promote poetry and creative writing in children aged 5-18 by offering free resources to teachers, parents and writers.

Our competitions give young writers the opportunity to develop their skills and see their work in a published book! At Young Writers UK we've been working with schools, parents and young writers across the world since 1991. Our aim is to promote poetry and creative writing within children from ages 5-18 years. We offer free resources for writers, parents, and teachers including writing tips, newsletters, lesson plans and activities to inspire children to develop their creative writing abilities and fall in love with English. Our competitions are for children of all ages, they're free to enter, and give young writers the opportunity to see their work in a published book! https://www.youngwriters.co.uk/

Editorial Tip

Use adverbs sparingly – find stronger verbs instead, then you can leave the adverb out if the verb is already doing the job!

He ran quickly – He sprinted
She cried loudly – She wailed
