Have you bought your copy of the February 2026 issue yet?

We're celebrating 20 years of the X150 and 30 years of the X100 in one fell swoop, by pitting the XK8 4.2S against the XK 4.2 to see whether the new car was a giant leap forwards. Which will we prefer? We also take an early Daimler 3.6 out to assess how Jaguar managed to carve out a niche for a technologically audacious model branded with one of Britain's most traditional badges. Does it feel like a misfit or does it make sense?

Paul Walton's been busy, digging out restomod XKs and the last RHD XJS V12 convertible. And we've sent Peter Simpson out to explore Rutland in a MkVIIM fit for royalty. If you want the best value Jaguar daily driver, turn to our XF diesel buying guide, while Rob Hawkins has been learning all about DPFs in our tech section.

And if you haven't bought it yet, why not treat yourself to a subscription from our online shop - linked in the comments? Make enjoying Jaguar content your New Year's Resolution.

Editorial request. We feature a lot of exciting cars from specialists or museum collections, but we'd love to feature more of your cars in the magazine too - whether as single model stories or part of a twin test. If you would like to have your car featured in print, tell us about it.

Ideally, you'll be within a reasonable distance of our editorial team in Cambridgeshire, or able to attend photo locations in the Midlands - but for something really special, we'll travel. If your car is of a type celebrating an anniversary this year - maybe it's an early E-type to mark 65 years of launch, or an X-TYPE at 25, or an XJ40 at 40 for instance - then we're especially keen to hear from you. And if you have something really special like a one-owner, low mileage or unrestored classic, we'd love to feature it.

For reasons of space we can't feature every car in the magazine, but if you don't tell us what you have we don't know what's out there. Show us what you want us to feature!

Spotted at the local Tesco, this pairing put our Editor in mind of the January issue twin test in which we pitted contributor Craig Cheetham's X308 Sovereign against a Range Rover Vogue, also owned by Craig Cheetham..

Unsurprisingly, Craig's car won our test. But would you choose the elegant style of the Jaguar X308, or the go-anywhere ability of the Range Rover?

Well well. At the time of posting this comment, there were a total of 226 reactions on our AI render post from yesterday. If we assume 😂, 😡, and 😪 are negative and 👍, ❤️, and 😲 are positive, that suggests that 85% of you like what you see and think Jaguar's doing the right thing after a controversial start. If we were Jaguar, we'd be pretty happy with that.

But the next mystery to solve is the name of the new car. Many people think Type 01 is likely, following the name of the concept car. And Jaguar boss Rawdon Glover told Autocar: "We've given some pretty good hints already. The naming of our concept car was pretty directional. The word 'Type' is of huge significance at Jaguar. The use of 'zero zero' indicates a reset. We'll be more specific in the early part of next year."

We're wondering if the recent 90th anniversary celebrations featuring a scarlet Type-00 with an SS Jaguar saloon might be an indicator that the Type-00 name is a red herring, and that the reset might involve calling the next generation cars the SS1 again. It wouldn’t be the first name Jaguar had brought back, after all.

But what about you? We'd like to know what you think the car will be called when it lands in showrooms in about 12mths' time.

The internet has been busy, it seems. With the help of AI, Instagram channel therubbertherapyofficial has created some renders based upon the camouflaged pics of the new Jaguar saloon.

We reckon they're quite close - although we're fairly sure from the spy shots that the real car will not have a rear window.

Set aside the Type-00 for a moment. If this is the real future of Jaguar, what do you think? Personally, I reckon Jaguar will be alright.
