AI can be daunting for businesses.
Finding the right approach, tools, and solutions is a massive challenge that starts with adopting the right mindset for AI.
That is why we have developed the AI mindset framework, designed to be a lens for your business to approach AI.
1. Accept That Change Is Constant
Tools, tactics and technology change rapidly and the scale of change can feel overwhelming.
You need to accept that the only constant is change and build adaptability into your mindset and processes.
2. Turn Fear Into Targeted Curiosity
It’s natural to feel overwhelmed by AI.
To quote Reid Hoffman the co-founder of LinkedIn, you need to turn fear into curiosity when it comes to AI.
Instead of asking, “Will AI take my job?”, ask, “How can I use AI to be more effective at it?”
3. Map Your Business Processes
The starting point of adopting AI is to map the processes within your business. Once you have them mapped, you can determine what can be automated, delegated or optimised.
4. Identify Biggest Pain Points
Look for the tasks that drain time and energy or don’t bring joy, the ones that slow you down.
These are your opportunities for AI support or automation. Start with the manual, time-consuming jobs or those where human involvement adds little value.
5. Research Tools & Use Cases
Once you’ve mapped your processes and identified your pain points, start testing AI tools that could solve the problem.
Test tools and approaches to find what fits your objectives.
Don’t expect to find the perfect tool straight away. The first time you use a new tool, it might not fufill your requirements in full but that may change down the line.
6. Test & Iterate
Treat everything as a test.
Keep what works, refine what doesn’t, and don’t roll out anything across your business until it proves its value.
Stay flexible, revisit tools and processes regularly.
7. Integrate, Scale & Stay Curious
Once a tool or workflow proves itself, integrate it into your wider processes and scale it across your team. Make it part of how your business runs day-to-day.
