What if the reason you keep shrinking yourself started with something you were made to feel ashamed of? đź’”

Humiliation trauma can leave deeper emotional marks than people realize. After being mocked, exposed, rejected, or repeatedly made to feel “not good enough,” you may start protecting yourself by becoming smaller.

You might stop speaking up, avoid attention, hide your opinions, over-apologize, struggle to accept compliments, or constantly worry about how others perceive you.

These patterns aren’t proof that something is wrong with you. Sometimes, they’re ways you learned to feel safer after being hurt.

Healing can begin when you recognize that you no longer have to live according to an old moment of shame.

Your voice deserves space. Your presence deserves to be seen.

Have you ever caught yourself shrinking to avoid being judged?

Sometimes the present can bring up feelings and reactions rooted in past experiences. Learning to recognize those patterns can be an important part of understanding yourself and moving forward.
