In 1949, Sam Wanamaker saw a plaque in Southwark - all that was left to commemorate Shakespeare’s Globe playhouse stood there.

“Why, that’s fantastic! Why don’t you guys rebuild it?”

Almost 50 years later, he did just that. Happy Birthday, Sam Wanamaker - and thank you ⭕

Inspiration can come from all sorts of places and usually something very unexpected! Once I got an idea for a book while looking at a tea towel I bought in Arundel Castle! More on that another day. Today I got an unexpected boost from a photo posted by my friend Ann Lewis of a rain-soaked alley in Cowes, Isle of Wight. The third part of my Vectis Trilogy, “A Cap from Valenciennes”, is drawing to a close... Thank you, Ann!
