The AC100 — Anglesey, coastlines, and a full reset 🚐🌊
The AC100 around Anglesey isn’t about ticking spots off a list — it’s about slowing down enough to actually feel where you are. Wind off the Irish Sea. Salt in the air. That quiet reminder that you don’t need much to feel grounded again.
🌅 Penmon Lighthouse
Where Anglesey eases you in gently. Wide views across the Menai Strait, calm waters, and a stillness that sets the tone for the whole loop. A perfect first stop to remind you why coastal road trips hit differently.
🧱 The Brickworks
Raw, industrial, and beautifully out of place. Crumbling structures meeting the sea, telling stories of graft, history, and how nature always reclaims its space. One of those spots that feels quiet but heavy with character.
🌊 Cemaes Bay
A proper coastal village pause. Colourful houses, a sweeping bay, and that easy rhythm of waves rolling in. Ideal for a slow wander, a coffee, and watching the tide do its thing.
🥾 Holyhead Lighthouse Walk
A stretch-the-legs moment. Rugged paths, dramatic cliffs, and views that remind you how wild this island can feel when the wind picks up. The kind of walk that clears your head without you even realising it.
🌬️ South Stack Lighthouse
Iconic, exposed, and humbling. Standing there with the lighthouse out on its own rock feels small in the best possible way. Waves crashing below, seabirds overhead, and nothing else demanding your attention.
⛪ St Cwyfan’s Church (Church in the Sea)
Timing is everything here. At high tide it feels almost unreal — a tiny church surrounded by water, solitude, and silence. One of those places that makes you pause without needing to say anything.
🏖️ Llanddwyn Beach & Lighthouse
The perfect way to end the loop. Open sand, distant mountains, and a lighthouse that feels like a full stop rather than a comma. Space to walk, think, and let the day settle.
