Match Report: Plymouth Albion RFC 45 vs 22 Leicester Lions 🏉

Plymouth Albion were in action in their fourth game of the National One campaign, taking on Leicester Lions at home in Brickfields. Despite the overcast, cold and dreary weather that welcomed both teams, the stands at Brickfields were packed with Albion supporters, all in great spirit....

Head Coach Ryan Lamb was happy with his sides overall performance, and the improvement they’ve made, saying “The first half was a bit frustrating, the boy's effort was definitely there, we just came away from what we've been good at over the last three games. We went a little too individual and there were a lot of errors in our own half, which we haven't done this season so far. We did have some great defensive sets that said… It wasn’t the best we’ve performed, but look at the scoreline. In previous years we might not have got the bonus point, or we might even have lost by a point or two, but we’ve won it comfortably, so that does show the progression we’ve made over the last couple of seasons.”

Get ready to kick off the holiday season with the Mount Edgcumbe Christmas Fair, a festive weekend packed with unique gifts, seasonal treats, and fun for the whole family.

Hosted by Miss Ivy Events with Mount Edgcumbe House and Country Park (Official), this popular event returns on Saturday, 13th December, and Sunday, 14th December, from 10am. to 3:30pm.

🎄 A Celebration of Local Talent and Festive Traditions

More than just a market, the Mount Edgcumbe Christmas Fair is a true celebration of the season. With over 50 artisan exhibitors, you'll find a hand-picked selection of food and gift stalls offering everything from delicious treats to one-of-a-kind presents. It’s the perfect place to find a unique stocking filler or a show-stopping Christmas gift you won’t see anywhere else.

Throughout the weekend, you can enjoy a variety of live performances and activities, including:

🎶 Live Music: Listen to a mix of festive tunes from local choirs like The Great Sea Choir, Cornwall Rock Choir, and Samba Kernow.

🦌 Family Fun: Be amazed by the Bubble Fairie's displays, get your face painted, and meet friendly alpacas, Santa’s elves, and reindeer.

🎨 Creative Workshops: Drop in between 10:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. to get hands-on. Try wire wrapping to make a Christmas tree or holly sprig (£3.50 materials fee) or learn to make a festive robin or penguin with pom-pom making.

🎅🏻 Santa's Grotto: A family favorite brought to you by the Torpoint & Rame Peninsula Lions, where children can share their Christmas wishes with Santa.

🌭 Food & Drink: Indulge in warm mulled wine, sweet treats, and savory artisan foods as you explore the fair.

🎫 Online: Adults £5.00, children (ages 3-15) £3.00 and children under 2 are free. (plus booking fee)
🎫 On the gate: Adults £6.50, children (ages 3-15) £4.50, and children under 3 are free.

🐕 Dogs are welcome in the Barrow Centre area (with a separate entrance) but are not permitted inside Mount Edgcumbe House.
