‼️‼️ARTISTS ‼️‼️
Are your works registered with PRS?? If not, please please please log into your account and make sure it’s up to date….There is money sat there waiting to be claimed!
I have an artist who has recently received a payment of over £700 from PRS due to submitting their works for each time they perform their live sets (you can also submit your DJ sets).
In a world when music is so undervalued, it’s so important to put the money back to the artist where possible!
❗️Step-by-step: reporting your gigs (setlists) to PRS
❗️Check you’re eligible: You need to be a PRS for Music writer member and your songs should be registered (works in your PRS repertoire). Reporting only covers live performances (not playback of recordings).
❗️Gather what PRS will ask for. Have this ready before you start: Venue (name/location), Date of the performance, Performer/Artist name for the set, Full setlist: every song played (including covers), and correct durations (update if different from the work registration). PRS’s tool prompts for these, but supplying everything accurately speeds payment.
❗️Log in to your PRS online account. Go to Report live performances in your member account. This is where you submit setlists for gigs, festivals, DJ sets, etc. Create (or re-use) a setlist. Enter your songs (and any covers) and durations. You can re-use or adapt past setlists to speed things up, which is handy for tours and repeat shows. Add the gig details. Pick the venue (or add it), enter the date, and confirm the performer name for that setlist. Submit one setlist per act per performance. (That’s the same principle venues use on paper forms.) Submit promptly. Report as soon as possible after the show so it lands in the right distribution cycle. PRS highlights reporting within the right timeframe to be eligible.
