Yes, you should refresh your voiceover showreels!

January has historically always been a quieter time in production. It's when producers like myself have more time to try out different voiceovers, rather than going with a tried and tested safe pair of hands.

2026 is different though.

The landscape has changed beyond all recognition. Trends and styles that were the norm a year ago are already starting to sound out of date.
As AI makes us sceptical about everything we see online, sounding more real and relatable has become more important than ever. The push for more genuine deliveries with more integrity has never been stronger.

For some of you, it could just mean a simple tweak to your showreel running order, but for others it could mean a complete start again.

Despite assurances, I've still not been paid for work completed at the end of September.

In November I was contacted again about an "urgent recording" but when I mentioned the previous unpaid invoice they mysteriously went quiet....again.
