Torfaen to host MAJOR cycle race 🚴‍♂️

It has been confirmed that Stage 5 of the ‘Lloyds Tour of Britain’ Cycle Race will start from Pontypool Park on Saturday 6th September 2025 🏁🚵‍♂️

Known as the UK’s largest free-to-spectate live sporting event, participants will slog their way up from Pontypool Park to ‘The Tumble’ in Blaenavon ⛰️😅

Participants include some of the world’s top cyclists 🚴‍♂️ and this will be the first time the national tour has visited Torfaen! 🎉

Amazing news for Torfaen! 👏🐝

More than £800,000 is to be invested in improving access to nature in urban areas in the borough.

Torfaen Council is one of only two local authorities in Wales to be awarded funding from the National Lottery Heritage Fund, as part of a new Nature Towns and Cities programme.
