A new 24-hour Burger King drive-thru is set to open at Cyfarthfa Retail Park in Merthyr Tydfil, bringing round-the-clock fast-food service to one of the town’s busiest retail destinations.

The development is expected to create new employment opportunities while expanding late-night and early-morning dining options for residents, visitors and motorists travelling through the area.

Located on Swansea Road, Cyfarthfa Retail Park is already home to several major food and retail brands, making it a popular destination for shoppers and families.

The addition of a 24-hour Burger King drive-thru will strengthen the park’s food offering and provide customers with access to meals at any time of day or night.

The new restaurant is expected to feature Burger King’s full menu, including its signature flame-grilled burgers, chicken products, breakfast items and drinks, alongside a dedicated drive-thru service designed for convenience.

Operating 24 hours a day will place the restaurant among a relatively small number of Burger King locations in South Wales offering around-the-clock service. Similar 24-hour Burger King drive-thrus operate at motorway and high-traffic locations across the region.

The opening is likely to be welcomed by shift workers, commuters and late-night customers seeking additional dining options in Merthyr Tydfil. It also reflects continued investment in Cyfarthfa Retail Park, which remains one of the county borough’s key commercial and retail hubs.

RCT Pride 2026 Announces First Two Headliners: Flor and Amrick Channa Set for Pontypridd Celebration

RCT Pride has unveiled the first two headline acts for its 2026 event, with international drag star Flor and Pride favourite Amrick Channa confirmed to perform at Ynysangharad Park on Saturday, 25 July 2026.

The announcement marks the beginning of what organisers promise will be the biggest and most vibrant RCT Pride celebration yet, bringing together entertainment, community spirit and LGBTQ+ visibility in the heart of Rhondda Cynon Taf.

Leading the first wave of performers is Flor, the internationally recognised drag artist and finalist from Drag Race Down Under. Known for stunning runway presentations, charismatic performances and a growing global fanbase, Flor has become one of the most exciting names in contemporary drag.

Since appearing on the hit television series, Flor has performed around the world, earning acclaim for a unique blend of glamour, creativity and stage presence. Her appearance at RCT Pride will mark her debut performance at the event.

Organisers say Flor’s addition to the line-up brings world-class drag entertainment to Pontypridd and reflects the festival’s commitment to showcasing diverse LGBTQ+ talent.

Joining Flor on the headline bill is singer and performer Amrick Channa, whose powerful vocals and energetic stage shows have made him a popular figure at Pride celebrations across the UK and beyond.

Amrick first gained national attention through appearances on both The X Factor and The Voice UK, before building a successful music career that has seen him perform internationally and release a string of uplifting dance-pop tracks.

Widely recognised for his positive message, infectious energy and strong connection with LGBTQ+ audiences, Amrick is expected to bring a festival atmosphere to Ynysangharad Park, with organisers promising an unforgettable live performance.

RCT Pride organisers expressed their excitement at securing both artists, describing them as performers who embody celebration, inclusivity and authenticity.

The annual event has grown significantly in recent years, attracting thousands of visitors to Pontypridd and providing a platform to celebrate LGBTQ+ communities across Rhondda Cynon Taf and South Wales.

With Flor and Amrick Channa now confirmed, anticipation is already building for RCT Pride 2026, with further performer announcements expected in the coming months.

RCT Pride 2026 will take place at Ynysangharad Park, Pontypridd, on Saturday, 25 July 2026.
