This weekend was spent in beautiful Wales 🏔️
Day 1: Arrived in Rhyd Ddu and eased ourselves in with a warm-up walk through the forest, soaking up some absolutely breathtaking views 🌲
Day 2: The real challenge… an ascent up Moel Hebog (783m) — the lesser-known mountain sitting quietly in Snowdon’s shadow. Starting from our cottage, we headed past Llyn y Gadair and through Beddgelert Forest before reaching the base.
What started as a steady climb quickly turned into a steep ascent, with some unexpected scrambling… ! 😅🥴
The summit made it all worth it — time for a well-earned rest, a sandwich, and a few photos 📸
The descent down the north side was slightly less steep but still a bit hairy in places! We reached a plateau halfway down before continuing east back down into Beddgelert Forest.
Back at the cottage: hot shower and a well-deserved cuppa ☕️ followed by some tasty food at the Cwellyn Arms & Snowdon Base Camp 🍕
Already thinking about the next one…
