Groupeze Music Groupeze Music, as an idea, came about during a lunchtime outing with my friend, and her son to Port Talbot in 1996.

We opened to retail musical instruments and accessories in the indoor market area of the Aberavon Shopping Centre. A single unit soon became a double, and in no time at all we relocated to a shop on the outskirts of the town. The teaching side of the business flourished, and so did the shop with us shifting more Mackie products than sense, but I could see the impact that the internet was going to have on retail and decided it was a battle I didn't want to fight, and so closed the shop, to focus on the teaching and studio part of the business. These areas of the business are flourishing and in response to demand, we have recently launched an online shop, which can be found on our website. We now have a fully equipped rehearsal room, our 'Jam Hub' and a high quality recording studio, both available for hire to develop and capture your sound. We are also incredibly proud of our music school. Our very experienced and skilled teachers are of the highest quality and all still gigging musicians. Still got a SM 81 for ride cymbal....... but honestly the KSM 141 is the most amazing SDC I've ever heard!
So..... not buying anything else......ever.....starting from now!

I showed these photos to my old man yesterday, and he said....."I thought you were thinning out your microphones?
I said....." I am.....I am selling ten.....I'm down to only 32 now!"
I bet only Adrian Bamford and Mike Osman will actually stop to look.....but there are some tasty microphones there!!!!!!
The Earthworks is punchy as hell.....the Dr Alien Synth has so much sub.......The SM81s are so natural.....perfect for hi hat and ride.......The KSM's are the most amazing SDC ever.......and I've tried everything on overheads.....the Rhode NT4 I have for room.....but is amazing on acoustics.....and the Lauten snare drum.........I don't think it is massively better than a 57.....but the spill is so controlled! And 6 Beta 98s for toms!!!!!!! SIX! I am going to experiment with top and bottom!
You want to record drums? Nowhere better!!!!!!

Once I get that happening.....I'm going to start mixing the next album, and learn how to market stuff.....Oh, and update the websites!!!!!!
I sat in on one podcast from TubeSpanner, and I realize how much of a joke my you tube channel was!
But....they were so supportive......it was a car crash.....but they didn't ridicule me.
I'm going to give that a good shot this winter. The views are creeping up....... but I think TubeSpanner will help me spread the word massively.....great app!
Obviously I want you to listen to my music on you tube, to get the figures up.....but I listened to the CD the the other day.....and the sound quality is night and day!

So, as the rebuild.....the long drawn out rebuild, (due to my health) draws to a close......It is hard to market anything without sounding like you are boasting?
This is the drum teaching room. and, completely by luck......this room sounds amazing!
The main kit is a Remo. I have to admit that I bartered for weeks for this kit, believing it to be a stain......but was gutted when it turned out to be a wrap.....but the bartering had been so intense.....I was too embarrassed to pull out!
But.....it is amazing. Remo, made of this acousticon stuff?.......Everything in my body says it should be "POOH!".....But it sounds amazing!
I have my little kit infront. Brian and Colin managed to teach without sitting at the drums, but I do need to show.....and yes, that is a Yamaha bass drum sawn in half.....I can't open the door if it was fullsize. The other half is my laundry basket!!!!!! True story!
I love teaching drums, and I have a new adult student, who we discovered is open handed......so that has thrown me some challenges.
I do have some open spaces, if you would like to become a groove master....and for you more advanced........John Coslett.....one of the finest drummers in the area is soon to join out team.
I have a lot of pupils who do not want to learn written music, which makes it a challenge, but we adapt to give you the enjoyable experience you want.
We have some guitar spots available too with the legendary Peter Pan of the 6 string world....Drew Martin.....he's been here longer than the spider in the toilets.....so he must be good.

It was a big growing up moment to have the balls to admit I don't like 184s!

It does not mean I'm right, and people give you massive kudos with Neumanns.......

But I don't like them!

Do you know ribbon microphones are not meant to be stored flat? It will cause a bow in the ribbon!
