6 years ago, I lost one of the most influential figures in my life. His name was Albert and I can proudly say he was my grandfather. He was a beautiful person, who helped shaped me into the person I am today, supported me in all my endeavours and showed me nothing but unconditional love. He wasn’t my biological grandfather, regardless I felt like he was and he never made me feel like I wasn’t. I’m failing in words to describe how much I loved him and sincerely wish with all my heart that I never had to write this song, for it is gut wrenchingly painful for me to listen to and to play. Alas, channeling my emotions through song is my therapy.
If you’ve ever encountered grief you’ll understand this song on its deepest level and I don’t intend for it to make people sad. This is just the only way I know how to pay tribute to someone I owe my life to.

Today is the day my new song is out!
I actually love this track, which is rare because it’s not often I ever like my own stuff. This one is very near and dear to me though…..
*cue the violins 🎻*
The song is about mental health and what that’s like to live with or go through, some of you won’t get the lyrics of this song and that’s cool with me (slightly jealous 😆). But to all you semi mentally unstable folks like myself, this one’s for YOU! Mental health can feel extremely isolating when you’re in the midsts of it all and sometimes it hard to not ask questions like ‘why aren’t I normal?’ Or ‘Why me?’. May this song be a gentle reminder for you or to someone you love, that you are Infact LOVED and NEVER alone in it. ❤️

Great to see Drew Hamill’s latest album out in the wild! More or less put together over lockdown this was a real challenge as 90% of the recordings came in from all the respective musicians. Tricky to get some sort of cohesion happening at times but I think we got there! So have a listen at the link below and even better order a CD from the man himself, support local music guys! Ps theres a cracker song about the Atlantic Bar on there too!
