On Community Connections today I have Jenni Van Wijk from The You Trust joining me for a chat, before she sets out with Cycling Without Age Portsmouth and Hayling Island on an epic challenge to visit all 45 lions on the Portsmouth Pride Art Trail in 100 minutes!

We have a team of over 60 volunteers who provide safe, stimulating rides for people seven days a week in Portsmouth and Hayling Island.

It is with profound sadness that we acknowledge the passing of Alan Knight MBE. Alan represented the absolute best of Portsmouth Football Club—showing unparalleled loyalty on the pitch and serving with distinction as a club ambassador. Beyond his historic sporting legacy, his dedication to advocating for prostate cancer awareness demonstrated the true depth of his character. He faced his illness with immense dignity, transforming his personal struggle into a shield to protect others. We extend our deepest, most heartfelt condolences to his family, friends, and the wider Pompey community. His impact will never be forgotten. RIP Alan and thanks for your help in securing a signed Pompey Shirt to add to our raffle prizes at our 50th Anniversary last October.

Well done to all concerned for a successful picnic in the park and the opening of the new Playground in Drayton Park

Congratulations to local Councillors Simon Bosher and Spencer Gardener and everyone who helped make Picnic in Drayton Park a massive success to mark the opening of the new playground, it was great to meet our new Lord Mayor and many others who’s names I didn’t record. The community turned out in their many hundreds along with so many children for the sports races and the enormous pack of well behaved dogs for the dog show.
Well done to all of you and many thanks to Radio Victory volunteers Matt, Sarah and Helen.
