After more than 20 years of DJing functions, weddings, parties, and events, I quietly stepped away from it last year.
Music gave me a lifetime of memories, friendships, stories, and experiences I could never have imagined when all of this began.
From the Royal Marines Band Service, to Alpha Connection, to world record attempts, theatre shows, functions, late nights, long drives, packed dancefloors, and unforgettable moments — music shaped a huge part of my life.
Looking back now, it feels less like a career path and more like a long journey of becoming.
Over the past few years I finally wrote many of those experiences down in a book called Time and Becoming.
It’s part memoir, part reflection on music, work, identity, teaching, philosophy, and the strange way life only really seems to make sense in hindsight.
For the next few days, the Kindle version is free on Amazon, so I thought this page — which was part of that journey too — was probably the right place to share it one last time.
