I don't know how can go from "layout of the month" to "this layout needs a frankly horrible letter publishing about it"

This is a great way to NOT encourage more people to share their work.
Horrible people who feel the need to criticize something that doesn't even equate to the fantastic modelling on this layout.

But for YOU to publish the letter not only makes it worse, but encourages this kind of pointless behaviour and diminishes work.

Shame on you.

I'm not sure what's worse. The fact the person said "I'm not a Welsh Language Zealot...." And proceeded to be a Welsh Language zealot.

Or that Railway Modeller felt the need to even print the letter.

I'm very disappointed that Railway Modeller felt the need to publish this letter. This is the sort of 'keyboard warrior' comment we often see online, where it can be easily blocked or deleted, but publishing it in the magazine is a real shame.

James is a good friend and a respected modeller, and this has really kicked his confidence ahead of displaying his PECO diorama this weekend.

He is dyslexic and, like a lot of railway modellers, is on the neurodivergent spectrum. Picking apart a fictional layout name is pedantic and unnecessary, and to publish the letter shows a lack of consideration from RM.

We should be promoting positivity, and I hope an apology is published by the magazine.
