Just in case you missed yesterday's press release....
We all have questions, and it's easy to point fingers, but clearly this is a huge failure of a system and a sport at National and International level.

Failing the sport for an entire country takes some doing, especially when we as a basketball community know how much passion exists for the sport in the UK.

This isn't a local club folding because of time constraints or ageing out, this is a catastrophic mismanagement of funds and resources.

FIBA will be "Standing by the BBF"... So expect more to follow although we aren't sure what they're standing by exactly, it's being liquidated 🤔

Best not to mention Superleague Basketball, British Championship Basketball or the GBBL at this point...

Basketball England have released a statement on the ongoing saga that is British basketball. The latest new is that the BBF, the British Basketball Federation, is now going into liquidation.
All the money has disappeared... Another blow for UK basketball.
Would be Interesting to hear from Chris Grant on the subject........

UK Basketball Breaking News : BBF have been suspended from FIBA activity 😞

The struggle for UK basketball continues after the absolute catastrophe over the last 3 years... Wonder who's fault that was.....

Congratulations to all those who've failed GB basketball, you should have listened to fans/clubs/players who actually love the sport.

Might want to rethink the website section on Integrity ......

Superleague Basketball News:
A Governing Body Endorsement is an official approval required for overseas athletes and coaches to obtain a work visa to play or work professionally in the UK.

BE had previously advised that they couldn’t grant GBEs as the SLB is not currently recognised by the British Basketball Federation (BBF), thus creating a major issue for SLB clubs preparing their rosters for the 2025/26 season.

However, following clarification from the Home Office, BE reversed their position and confirmed on Friday that they will now process endorsements for SLB clubs.

Super League Basketball Interim Independent Chair Sanjay Bhandari MBE said:

“We’re grateful to the Home Office and BE for their clarification in resolving this key issue. Our clubs have shown real ambition and determination throughout the summer, pushing ahead with roster plans in the face of uncertainty.

“Now that this issue has been resolved, we can all look ahead to what promises to be a thrilling season of Super League Basketball with a full fixture list to be announced in the coming weeks.”

The new SLB season will commence on the 19th September
