Event manager is right up there with enlisted military personnel, firefighter, and airline pilot for most trusted professions.

Makes sense.

Someone who solves your problems before you knew you had problems. Also specializes in precision guesswork based on unreliable data that changes daily.

Now...

Here's an honest JD for Event Marketers:

"You will make 47 decisions before 9am based on information that will be wrong by 10am. Your vendors will ghost you. Your speakers will send their slides 4 minutes before they go on stage. Someone will ask if we have gluten free, vegan, nut free, dairy free, taste free options 6 hours before doors open. You will smile through all of it"

Shoutout to every event coordinator out there who has ever had to explain to a sponsor why their booth is 2 feet smaller than they thought, convince a venue that yes we do in fact need more chairs, and somehow keep a smile on their face when someone asks "can we just add 50 more people?" the day before.

You deserve hazard pay.
