Planning a Christmas party? Before you search for a band, DJ or tribute act, start with the room and the people in it.

A hotel ballroom with 250 guests needs a very different approach to an intimate corporate dinner for 50.

After more than 25 years arranging live entertainment across the UK, we've learned that the best Christmas party entertainment isn't necessarily the biggest act or the loudest band.

It's the entertainment that fits the venue, the guests and the atmosphere you're trying to create.

Live bands, DJs, vocalists, tribute acts and speciality entertainment can all work brilliantly — in the right setting.

A brilliant Bavarian B**r Festival we booked at the weekend — plenty of music, plenty of atmosphere and, apparently, absolutely no shortage of volunteers for the leg work.

This is exactly what great live event entertainment should do. Not just give people something to watch, but give them something to be part of.

A little taste of Bavaria at the weekend… without the flight to Munich.

We booked the entertainment for this Bavarian B**r Festival, and judging by the legs in the air, everyone seemed to get into the spirit of things.

This is what we love about themed events. Get the right entertainment, the right atmosphere and the right crowd together, and people don’t just attend — they join in.

Not only did England get the win... so did I. ⚽🙌

Whilst England were celebrating on the pitch, I had something to celebrate as well.

This week I qualified for Utility Warehouse's **Free Energy Club** and even received a personal congratulations from the CEO.

Running Camscott Leisure has been my passion for over 25 years, helping venues, hotels, businesses and families create memorable events. I wouldn't change that for the world.

But alongside that, I've also been helping people save money on their household bills through Utility Warehouse. It's fitted around the business perfectly, and it's been genuinely rewarding to see the difference it makes for families whilst creating an additional income at the same time.

Receiving recognition like this is a lovely bonus, but the real reward is knowing I've helped people keep more money in their pockets.

The free energy, incentive holidays and recognition are fantastic perks too, but for me it's about building another income stream that works alongside a business I already love.

A wedding reception should tell two stories...

The first is before the guests arrive – everything's set, the room looks spot on, and there's that quiet excitement in the air.

The second is a few hours later – the dance floor's full, the music's doing its job, and nobody wants the night to end. 🎶

These are a few moments from Matt & Joanne's celebration, and it's fair to say the second story turned out rather well.

Congratulations to the happy couple, and thank you for letting us be part of your special day. Wishing you both a lifetime of happiness. 🥂

Not every business meeting happens in a boardroom. 😊

This week finds me in Corfu, combining a bit of work with a bit of sunshine.

Looking across the harbour this morning, it reminded me of something I've learned over the years...

Sometimes the best ideas arrive when you step away from the desk for a while.

Running a business, helping customers save money, supporting a growing team, and keeping all the plates spinning can be full-on at times. A change of scenery has a funny way of helping you see things more clearly.

I'll still be checking in, taking calls, and helping where I can, but I'll also be making the most of a few days in a rather lovely part of the world.

After all, if you can't enjoy a bit of sunshine while staying productive, what's the point? ☀️
