04/07/2025
On Sunday 6th July 2025, we will be walking by the sea in memory of Mylo – our teammate, our friend, and a truly brave young boy.
This sponsored walk from Redcar to Saltburn and back is part of a fundraiser organised by the Middlesbrough U13’s Rugby Team.
I will be there with my children, and if anyone would like to join or just walk part of the way with us — you are more than welcome.
If during that time anyone needs someone to talk to, I’ll be there with an open heart and open ears. Sometimes just walking side by side helps more than words.
Thank you so much for all the donations that have already been made to support the charities close to Mylo’s family.
Every gesture counts, and every step we take is for him. 💛
In Loving Memory of Mylo – Middlesbrough U13’s Rugby Team Fundraiser
We are the Middlesbrough U13’s Rugby Team, and we are coming together to raise money in memory of our teammate and friend, Mylo, who has tragically passed away.
In honour of Mylo, all money raised will be donated to support charities that are incredibly close to his family’s hearts — organisations that support children living with Cystic Fibrosis and those fighting childhood cancer. Mylo faced both of these battles with strength beyond his years.
Born with Cystic Fibrosis, and later fighting cancer with incredible bravery, Mylo never let his struggles define him. You wouldn’t have known the challenges he faced when you saw him on the rugby field — fierce, determined, and strong, yet always a true young gentleman. His courage and spirit inspired everyone.
Mylo was just 13 years old — a kind, funny, and much-loved boy, simply out playing and being a child, when he went missing on Thursday night. After tireless searches by emergency service teams, friends, and the local community, the heartbreaking news came that Mylo had been found.
This loss is truly unthinkable for his Mama, Kayleigh, for Mylo’s family, friends, teammates, coaches and teachers — and it has deeply affected our entire community. The love and support shown from near and far speaks volumes about how special Mylo was.
As his teammates, we want to do something to honour Mylo and show his family they are not alone. On Sunday 6th July, we will be doing a sponsored walk from Redcar to Saltburn and back, in Mylo’s memory.
Please help us raise funds to support vital charities that make a difference to children facing the same battles Mylo quietly fought so bravely. Any donation, big or small, is greatly appreciated.
