The Competitions Department of the Gambia Football Federation (GFF) informs the general public that it has reviewed two new protests lodged by North Star and Trust FC concerning player eligibility in the ongoing GFF National Playoffs for Promotion to the Women's Second Division League.
The matter was thoroughly investigated by the Competition Department and TMS Manager.
North Starโs protest against Ndim's was rejected in accordance with Article 44, sub 45.4 (f) of the GFF Constitution.
The Competitions Department has expressed strong concern over a severe breach of GFF rules, regulations, and the Disciplinary Code of Conduct. Investigations revealed that Queens of Koita violated Article 38 of the GFF Disciplinary Code ("Forging Documents") by registering a player under the name Mama Jallow, who is actually Astou Diop, for the 2025/26 women's regional playoffs.
A comparison of registration photos from the 2022/23 season confirms that "Mama Jallow" is Astou Diop, who was previously registered as a player for Trust FC. A careful review by the TMS Manager confirmed that Astou Diop is currently registered in. Senegal, in the FIFA TMS system. In accordance with Article 5, sub 11 (page 7) of the amended 2023 GFF regulations, the international transfer of players is strictly governed by FIFA regulations.
Sanctions and Rulings
Based on these facts, Queens of Koita is in direct violation of Article 38 of the GFF Disciplinary Code. Under this article, any individual who forges or falsifies documents in football-related activitiesโor uses them to deceiveโis subject to sanctions. Furthermore, paragraph 5 stipulates that a club may be held liable for infringements committed by its officials and/or players, which can result in a fine, transfer ban, and/or expulsion from the competition.
Consequently, the Organising Committee has ruled as follows:
The protest by Trust FC is deemed valid. Trust FC is awarded three points and three goals against Queens of Koita.
Queens of Koita is fined D5,000.00 (Five Thousand Dalasis), payable to the GFF account within one week of receiving this notice.
The matter has been formally forwarded to the GFF Disciplinary Committee for consideration of further disciplinary sanctions.
