We're so proud to be part of the Every Little Thing Festival on October 4th, 2026, at the Penta Hotel (12pm-6pm).

This isn't just an event; it's a day dedicated to reclaiming our wellbeing through soundbaths, live music, and real, trauma-informed support.

🎣 Something special is coming to Berkshire – and it could change lives.

Lisa Anna Hill (who works in the ambulance service and is a passionate angler) is setting up a fishing Community Interest Company right here in our community. Her vision is simple but powerful: make fishing accessible to everyone.

That means people struggling with mental health, neurodiverse individuals, veterans, young people, complete beginners, and those who simply can’t afford the gear.

Lisa knows first-hand how fishing brings people together, gives a sense of purpose, and supports mental wellbeing. She’s already working towards her fishing coaching qualification so she can help people safely and effectively – and she’s raising funds to buy equipment that can be loaned or given to those who need it most.

This is exactly the kind of positive, practical community project Berkshire needs.

📍 READING — THIS OCTOBER: BARBERSHOP UNCUT STORIES IS COMING TO TOWN! 💈💙

1 in 4 Black men will be diagnosed with prostate cancer in their lifetime, which is double the risk of other men.

We’re bringing 'Barbershop Uncut Stories' to Reading this October — a powerful new theatre play about Black men coming together in a barbershop to talk openly about their experiences of living with prostate cancer.

The play explores diagnosis, treatment, relationships, masculinity and the emotional impact of prostate cancer — as well as the conversations that can be difficult to have with friends, family and even ourselves.

Prostate cancer is a conversation that needs to happen more often. Black men are at higher risk of developing prostate cancer, yet many men still don’t talk about it or know when they should seek advice.

Through honest stories, humour, music and emotion, Barbershop Uncut Stories creates a familiar, accessible space to raise awareness and encourage men to talk about their health.

Because sometimes the most important health conversations start in the most unexpected places.
