⚠️🌧️ YELLOW WEATHER WARNING: Cornwall, grab your wellies! 🌧️⚠️
Heads up, everyone, it’s about to get soggy!
⚠️The Met Office has just issued a Yellow Weather Warning for Rain, in effect from Saturday 6 p.m. right through to Sunday 9 p.m. That means Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly are in for a drenching, and if you were hoping for a calm weekend… well, you might want to rethink those beach BBQ plans.⚠️
Here’s the lowdown:
Heavy rain is expected, with some places seeing 30–50 mm in just a few hours.
Isolated thunderstorms could pop up like unexpected party guests, complete with dramatic rumbles.
In the unluckiest spots, up to 75 mm might fall, that’s nearly a month’s worth of rain in a day!
Translation: there’s a chance you might briefly own waterfront property, even if you live on a hill.
What does this mean for us?
Localised flooding could cause tricky travel, so plan journeys carefully and keep an eye on the roads.
Campers, make sure your tents aren’t about to become boats.
Gardeners, those parasols and lightweight chairs? Time to bring them in, unless you fancy playing “Where’s my furniture?” on Monday morning.
On the plus side, your water butts will be overflowing, the ducks will be having a field day, and it’s the perfect excuse for endless cups of tea and a cosy movie marathon.
Stay tuned for updates, we’ll keep you posted as things develop.
