Being a good birth partner doesn’t just happen by accident: understanding the process means you can support her properly.
As a doula, supporting birth is what I do best; I know what it takes to help someone to birth the best way possible, and that starts with the preparation.
Whether we’re talking about the process of birth, pain management, coping strategies or baby life, the more you can relate to each other, the better a birth team you will make.
The talks you have.
The giggles you share.
The silly questions you ask.
All of this is the groundwork that builds your birth partner skills: it helps her to trust you implicitly, and helps you meet her needs when she needs you most.
This is why birth partners - whether they be the dad-to-be, a mum or a neighbour - are more than just an additional guest at my group antenatal sessions. You’re a core part of the experience - you’re vital!
My next group antenatal course starts on January 11th, only has 3 spaces left & is perfect for Feb, March & April due dates.
