Delighted to see our work on KESTAV is now available for all to view on BBC i Player - it’s a sci fi set in Cornwall using the Cornish language - what’s not to love!?
It was Claire’s favourite project from 2021 - go check it out!

We're delighted to announce that Screen Cornwall has collaborated with the BBC to enable the launch of Cornish language content on BBC iPlayer for the first time.

The collection of shorts, commissioned through FylmK, a talent development scheme delivered by Screen Cornwall in partnership with Cornwall Council, intended to develop the use of Kernewek in indigenous media.

The four films, YN MOR (At Sea) by Zoe Alker, AN TAROW (the Bull) by Jonny Dry, MOWES (Lass) by Bryher Flanders and KESTAV (Contact) by Christopher Morris, tackle a diverse range of themes, from a coming-of-age drama to a Cornish-speaking alien returning to earth.

We are thrilled that Cornish content is available for the first time on such a far-reaching platform to showcase some of the incredible shorts created in Cornwall by local talent.

Please share as widely as possible.

Behind Porth Sound

You may know us as the dynamic sound duo “James & Claire”, a stereo pair of “soundies’ that provide end-end services from recording through to the final mix. Based in Cornwall, Southwest England, we frequently travel for work and are always on the look out to work with like-minded people.

We’ve been working within Sound for Film & TV as both a team and individually since 2014, providing clients with on-location recording as well as post-production sound editing & mixing.

Claire covers the majority of the post-production side of Porth Sound, as well as operating as Project Manager. James covers the majority of the production side of Porth Sound, recording audio both on location and studio based, whilst keeping one eye on the day’s surf reports.

Together we offer a personable, real service to provide all your sound needs, from development through to deliverables.
