Yes, did you know that between November 2015 and January 2016, the skeletal remains of 252 individuals – some of them children - were dug up and moved to the Department of Archaeology, at the University of Reading for a more detailed study by Mary Lewis, a professor in Bioarchaeology, and her colleagues. This week, Mary is my guest, to tell me more about how they got permission for the exhumations, what they have learnt from the skeletons of those who died 100 years ago and what it tells us of Redhill way-back-when, and what’s happened to the bones now.
