Did you know the breathtaking backdrop of Wandin North, VIC inspired the setting for Mystery Cove in the Hunter Chronicles series?

Author Amanda Bews imagined the water beginning just beyond the tree line:

“The lawn stretched only a short distance before dropping away, opening to a sweeping valley. An ancient forest of tightly packed trees spread below, framed by towering red cliffs. From the lawn’s edge, old stone steps hinted at a path leading down through the forest… all the way to the beach, where white-capped waves rolled onto the sand.” 🌊🌲

The smoke had barely cleared when Mystery Cove faced another crisis. Animals were disappearing from the national park and Jem was talking about smugglers. As the trail heated up, Ethan had to consider was it the work of traffickers, or an old enemy returned?

Closer to home the Hunter gang Is in danger of splitting up. Barry and Bentley are leaving the Cove, Zeke’s family is tearing itself apart, and Stephanie seems lost in a hundred-year-old diary. As the date of Ethan’s baptism approaches, he wonders what it would take to make them feel like a family again.

A child who studies through the entire 4 volumes will have learned about all of our fundamental beliefs and will be prepped for baptism, in fact the last lesson in Volume 4 deals with baptism and even invites a child to read through the General Conference endorsed “Simplified baptismal Vows” and make a decision for baptism.

Dodging Zeke and his gang of bullies, battling dinosaurs, saving Pookie the Bear from a fate worse than death - it was just another day in the life of Ethan Hunter. Who would have thought starting at Mystery Bay Primary would be so dangerous? Ethan was desperate to get away, but there are some things you just can't escape. Some decisions too. As the skies filled with smoke, the flames rose higher and Mystery Bay succumbed to the fires, Ethan was forced to confront the truth about himself. People either do something, or they do do nothing. When it came down to it, would he pass the test? If there are no such thing as ghosts, why does Ethan feel like he's being watched, what is that spooky glow coming from Braidwood Hall, and what on earth made Bentley venture inside?
