🏡 The full renovation and refurbishment of C**t House in Suffolk, led by TAS Architects, has transformed the original timber-framed property into a bright and inviting home. A new larch-clad single-storey extension replaces a previous addition, blending contemporary design with natural materials to complement its woodland setting.

🌿 Natural materials and careful detailing ensure the home sits harmoniously within its surroundings. Large picture windows and sliding doors capture garden views and maximise natural light, creating seamless transitions between indoor and outdoor spaces.

📐 Window and door supplier okoHaus provided and installed VELFAC V200 windows and doors, enhancing the project’s modern aesthetic and performance. In an interview, John Lewis, Managing Director of okoHaus, spoke about their role in delivering bespoke aluminium flashings to ensure visual consistency and precision detailing across the façade

🏗️ Nelson Place in Belfast marks a major milestone in city-centre development, delivered by Greystar Apartments, designed by Fletcher Joseph Associates, built by GRAHAM Construction, and operated by Student Roost. The landmark scheme provides 774 student bedrooms and a full suite of wellbeing and recreational spaces, redefining modern student living.

🌆 Located in the Cathedral Quarter, Nelson Place transforms a former brownfield plot into a thriving new community hub. The design combines red brick, metal, and glass for a contemporary, contextual feel. A horseshoe configuration creates a central courtyard, while shared amenities such as a sky lounge and rooftop running track promote connection and calm in the heart of Belfast.

💡 Guided by wellbeing principles of awareness, flexibility, and participation, Nelson Place offers active spaces and areas designed for collaboration and study. Student Roost’s onsite team supports mental health through initiatives like the campaign, reinforcing a sense of belonging for every resident.

🏋️ Delivered by GRAHAM Construction, the project integrates a university-grade sports facility within its residential structure — a UK first for PBSA. The sports centre features a four-court hall, fitness suite, and rooftop track, benefitting Ulster University students and the wider community. Dr Nigel Dobson, Head of Sport Services, commented: “Nelson Place is not just a new sports centre, it’s the exciting realisation of a bold vision, accessible to everyone from complete beginner to Olympic prospect.”

🏗️ The new Via De Amicis 154 building in Pescara, Italy, designed by Giovanni Vaccarini Architetti, redefines the traditional residential structure. Conceived as a series of overlapping terraces, the architecture opens onto the city, creating strong connections between private living spaces and the surrounding urban fabric.

🌆 The building steps back from the street at ground level, continuing the public pathway through its volume and encouraging interaction with the city. Its six above-ground floors extend variably, embracing light, sea views, and urban perspectives. At night, lines of light accentuate the protruding forms, giving the structure a distinctive presence and symbolic luminosity within Pescara’s coastal skyline.

🗣️ In interview, Giovanni Vaccarini described the project as a “hybrid” between a villa and a palazzo, a reinterpretation that challenges the established relationship between building typology and the modern city. His design approach focuses on redefining the “palazzina,” transforming it into a living, breathing form that engages with its environment while offering residents a new urban experience.

📚 The De Valera Library & Súil Art Gallery in Ennis town centre marks an important addition to the region’s civic and cultural landscape. Designed by Keith Williams Architects for Clare County Council, the 2,321m² complex combines a two-storey public library, a 100m² art gallery, and the headquarters of Clare Libraries and Arts Services.

🏛️ Positioned beside the existing Glór Theatre, the development unites the literary, visual, and performing arts through a new double-height colonnaded entrance. The design’s undulating reconstituted stone façade and large glazed openings bring light and transparency to the building, while naturally ventilated interiors and NZEB standards ensure environmental performance.
