Today is Transgender Day of Remembrance. We remember the trans and gender diverse people whose lives were taken by transphobia and discrimination. Their strength, pride and beauty live on in us.

Around the world, 281 trans people were reported murdered between October 2024 and September 2025. Trans activists made up 14% of all prejudice-motivated deaths. Trans women of colour and trans s*x workers continue to be disproportionately targeted.

We know that stigma, exclusion and lack of support can have devastating effects, and we also mourn the trans friends and community members we lost far too soon this year.

Today, we remember the cost of injustice — and the urgency of building a better future. To our trans and gender diverse community: we will always stand with you.

This week (like every week at TransActual) we continue to fight for better access to healthcare, to protect our rights in law and to empower and amplify the voices of trans people.

🚨This is an emergency🚨

This Government is currently sitting on an EHRC Code of Practice that will lead to the segregation and exclusion of trans people in public life.

If the Minister for Equalities, Bridget Phillipson, passes the code, trans and gender non conforming folks could be banned from bathrooms, changing rooms and clubs for a generation.

Act now. Tell your MP to Scrap the Bathroom Ban and write to Bridget demanding any Code of Practice ensures providers can lawfully include trans people in their services.
