🧡🦈Coaches/Training Announcement🦈🧡

On Sunday a few of our coaches attended an SRU accredited coaching session and are now officially fully qualified and trained coaches! 🏆

They had a brilliant day learning and developing their coaching skills, with topics including managing different ability levels, communication, safety/risk management and organising training plans.

And now for the announcement you’ve all been waiting for… 👀

I can officially announce (and it’s for real this time! 😂) that we are starting back at training this Sunday!🏉

- Youth Coach

“I’ve been playing rugby ever since I was 4 years old and have been coaching on and off for the past 6 years. This was my first year as a coach with the Sharks aswell as playing for the senior team. I’m a massive outdoors person and I also love getting muddy”

🎤How long have you been a part of Rosyth Sharks? “Last year was my first year with the sharks but grew up in the club from the age of 2”

🎤 What position do you play? “I play ho**er or if the coach is feeling dangerous 13”

🎤 What is your favourite thing about coaching? “Teaching the next generation of sharks like the old sharks taught me”

🎤What is your favourite thing about rugby? “Sitting down the biggest lad on the opposition”

🎤what’s your secret talent? “Hmmmm... I’d say im pretty good at voice impressions”

‼️ IMPORTANT TRAINING UPDATE‼️

Unfortunately, due to a scheduling clash for a pre planned event the youth team will NOT be returning to training tomorrow as planned.

💥Our next training session will be on Sunday 30th August💥

We apologise for any confusion or inconvenience this may have caused, and we appreciate your understanding.

On a more positive note, during this time off our coaches will be taking the opportunity to attend an SRU coaching course, to further develop their knowledge to help provide the best possible training and support for our youth players🧡🦈

“So about me… well I’m ally, began playing rugby in first year so about 11/12?- Can’t really remember as that was a while ago now! when I’m not playing, I love to relax listening to some music or gaming”

🎤How long have you been a part of Rosyth Sharks? “I’ve been at the sharks for a year now after a 6 year absences from the game. I did however play for the club under the old name of Fife southern”

🎤 What position do you play? “I’m the no.9”

🎤 What is your favourite thing about coaching? “It’s a chance to share my experiences as well as teach the future of the club”

🎤What is your favourite thing about rugby? “What I love about the game is spending that time with my mates and how it can bring so many people together.”

🎤Which animal would make the best rugby player? “I’d say a big hairy gorilla”

“I started playing rugby at the age of 14 back in my home town in south east england. I moved to Scotland with the Armed forces and I have lived here ever since! Ive played rugby with both divisional and regional military teams, but I'm now going into my 5th season with the sharks as the current Vice Captain. In my spare time I play saxophone and gig with bands. I also love spending time with my amazing wife and our pet bird Taco”

🎤How long have you been a part of Rosyth Sharks? “on and off since 2015 however just starting my 5th consecutive season.”

🎤 What position do you play? “I play number 8 and Flanker”

🎤 What is your favourite thing about coaching? “being able to support the development of rugby in younger generations so the sport continues to grow.”

🎤What is your favourite thing about rugby? “walking of the pitch battered, bruised and sore with a hard fought win on a cold and wet day.”

🎤If you had to race one animal, what would give you the best chance of winning? “I think I could beat an overweight, asthmatic sausage dog.”

“I started playing rugby quite late, starting at university. In my spare time I’m a massive film and cinema fan. I review every movie I watch, currently sitting at 2,023 total films watched, with 267 this year so far.”

🎤How long have you been a part of Rosyth Sharks? “I have been part of Rosyth Sharks for around 13 years”

🎤 What position do you play? “I played front row, primarily loose head prop. Injury forced me to stop playing, however this allowed me to focus on other aspects of the rugby club.”

🎤 What is your favourite thing about coaching? “I love watching the kids develop their skills over the seasons and encouraging others to improve as well”

🎤 - ⁠What is your favourite thing about rugby? “My favourite thing about rugby is the respect we have for each other, the match officials and the other team. It teaches great values that can be used in life. Nothing better than having a brilliant game and then sharing a drink with the other team afterwards. Oh and scrums!”

🎤 If you had a pet dinosaur what would you call it? “If I had a pet dinosaur, its name would be Kevin. Quite funny him just having a normal name”

“I started playing rugby at the age of 5 which was over 30 years ago. I originally started playing at Rosyth, but I also played for Grangemouth, Dunfermline and Peterhead, before returning to Rosyth Sharks. When im not playing or coaching, I spend most of my time driving buses and coaching my daughters in cycle speedway”

🎤How long have you been a part of Rosyth Sharks? “Been back at Rosyth Sharks for 1 year after spending 7 years away from rugby”

🎤What position do you play? “I play in the centres mostly number 12 but will play any position I’m asked to do”

🎤What is your favourite thing about coaching? “Favourite thing about coaching is passing on the knowledge I have gained over the years as well as seeing the kids enjoy the sport and also help grassroots rugby continue”

🎤What is your favourite thing about rugby? “getting the ball in my hands and running as hard as I can gaining yards for my team and I love to tackle”

🎤If you were a superhero, what would your name be? “my superhero name would be Mr bump as I get hurt a lot 😅”

“My name is David Reynolds and as well as being the Youth Head Coach and the Founder of the Youth Rugby Club, I have also played rugby on and off for the past 14 years. I’m very outgoing, friendly and sophisticated 🥴 (evidence can be forged if needed)”
