Looking back at one of my favourite album artwork projects! With his double album “Back & Forth”, Antoine Dufour not only continued to push the boundaries for fingerstyle guitar music, but also took the opportunity to do something different with physical media and how we as listeners interact with it. Creating a booklet from clear acetate pages and including a guitar tuning decoder was such a fun experience for me. I made various prototypes for the decoder out of paper which eventually led us to the final design seen here. Great memories working on this project.

Six panel digipak design for Matt Pearce & The Mutiny’s live album “Soul Food Served Live.” Featuring various design motifs that I created for the 2022 album “The Soul Food Store.” One of my favourite parts of working on projects like this is sourcing various textures - finding/making non-digital elements that add to the theme of an album can elevate the overall packaging and ultimately the experience of owning physical media.

I’m pleased to share the full design for Andy Jurik’s latest album, Tinto, as well as a closer look at how the artwork was created.

Every project with Andy has brought an opportunity to try something different from the last. This time around I was using fine liners and a masking tape stencil - always glad for any opportunity to be more hands-on as opposed to relying on software.
